INTRODUCTION
HR Profession Map
The CIPD HR profession map helps in describing what HR people do and deliver across
each and every aspect and specialisation of profession ((Rose, 2018)). This includes specifying
knowledge, skills and behaviours which are required for effective and successful in HR role.

The CIPD HR Profession Map sets out what HR profession have to know and deliver at
various stages of the map. This map includes 10 professional areas, 8 behaviours and 4 brands.

My role and band
My currently work band is Band 1 and I am working as a production assistant at Lear
Corporation. My job role is to assist and deliver information to Zone Leader and Group Leader.
My professional area
There are 8 professional areas in the CIPD map. I am included in band 1 and under this
band, I have basically two professional areas for working. These are performance and rewards
and learning and development (Emeagwal and Ogbonmwan, 2018). My main role is to measure
the performance of employees and evaluate their rewards.
The core professional areas Insights, Strategy and solutions
According this section, I have to develop understanding of the organisation and it's
context. These insights are used for tailoring strategy and solutions for meeting the
organisational goals and objectives. As I am in Band 1, I use my personal experience a d develop
understanding of the organisation and it's context for informing work and activities. I read
relevant information and articles for building and broadening understanding of various new
initiatives and practices. At present, my job role is to assist and deliver information to the zone
leader and group leader. I have applied strategy for doing my work effectively.
Leading HR
There are basically 8 type of behaviours discussed in the CIPD map. As I am in the band
1, it is seen that to be an effective HR profession, I have to possess all these behaviours. I am a
good challenger and I take various risks while working. Also I have good collaboration.
My strength
My biggest strength is I can collaborate with my team mates and work effectively. I am
also good at influencing people through my skills.
My Development behaviour
I have to develop my skills for my betterment in future. The behaviour skill in which I
lack are I am not curious and cannot make good decisions. I have to work upon these skills for
making my future bright and working well in the company.

Other HR skills/Knowledge
The other HR skills which are important for me are ability for multitasking and discrete
and ethical (Storey, Ulrich and Wright, 2019). While serving for the company it is very
important to monitor that all actions are done under ethical manner. I must also have good
communication skills.
