1.0 Research Topic
The topic of the research is “How the HR best practices can influence the retention of the
employees in the Food & beverage industry in the State of Qatar”. This research aims for finding
the main reason for the employee turnover and then identifies which HR practices will be
suitable for overcoming the problem of employee turnover in casual dining restaurants in Qatar.
1.1 Research Objectives
To find topmost five reasons of the employee turnover in Casual dining restaurants in
Qatar Market
To identify the balance between retention of the employee and organizational
profitability in Food and Beverage Industry
To investigate about the best HR practices in Casual dining restaurants for employee
retention in Qatar Market
2.0 Suggestions on Refining the Topic
This research will aim to investigate the topmost five practices that will help the casual
dining restaurants in Qatar to retain their employees. This research will also demonstrate the
relationship of the employee retention with the organizational profitability. HR practices thus
should be developed in a way so that it can retain the employee effectively and also attain
financial benefits of the casual dining restaurants.
3.0 Suggestion on Search the Research Literature
In order to find appropriate sources to develop literature review, firstly the issues in
retaining the employees in the casual dining will be identified. This research will be followed by

the detail of on which factors employee stay in the casual dining restaurants. In this case, the
research article developed by Nasyira, Othman and Ghazali (2014) will be considered to identify
the factors based on which an employee retain in restaurants. Details will also be considered
through the peer journal articles like the one developed by Kumar, Ramendran and Yacob (2012)
on turnover intention in fast food industry. Following this, research articles on human resource
management practices for retaining employees and the factors of HR practices, which will help
the organization to retain their employee, will be accomplished. Peer article developed by Chen
and Wu (2017) is based on the leadership style of the HR which is necessary to retain the
employees. Lastly, the attainment of the profitability of the casual dining restaurant with
employee turnover will be highlighted through peer reviewed article developed by Glebbeek and
Bax (2004).
4.0 Proposed Research Methodologies
This research will focus both on the primary and secondary data collection method. The
primary data will be collected from the employees of Food and Beverages industry, who works
in casual dining restaurants. A questionnaire method will be conducted based on the reason of
their employee turnover from these employees. The sample size for the employees will be 100.
In addition to that, Qatar statistics on employee turnover in F&B Industry and the trends
followed in the food and beverage organization will be collected through secondary data
collection method. Moreover, the best HR practices in the hospitality industry and food and
beverages industry will be evaluated through secondary data collection through research papers
and peer journal articles.
