Multitasking- As recruiters, it is important to multi-task and ensure that
you possess multiple skills and capabilities as the HR manager to screen
the candidates effectively. If you are able to multitask with ease then it will
help you in succeeding in your role as an HR.
Decision-making- Try and make strong and impactful decisions related to
the selection of the candidates at the interview. When you make the right
decisions you are helping the organization in more than one ways as the
decision to recruit a right candidate can be beneficial for our organization.
Organizing- To be able to organize and manage the human resources is
what is required from you in your role as the HR of the organization. You
should be a good administrator and organizer and make sure that the
processes are properly followed in the organization. By doing so you
contribute in raising the efficiency and effectiveness level in the company
and allow maximum output.
The selection strategies which you as HR managers can use are as follows
Multistage selection strategies- In this strategy you are required to
assess the candidates in a number of steps or rounds. As HR manager,
you should screen the candidates by assessing their different skills
effectively. This will ensure that they are thoroughly tested before they
are finally selected to assume their role in the organization.
Conjunctive selection strategy- In this strategy, a pool of applicants is
considered for a particular position at the offering. The applicants go
through different stages, and those who are unsuitable are eliminated
after each stage. Only the skilled candidates will reach the last stage. So
as HR managers you are required down to narrow on the number of
candidates and ensure that only the best talented people reach the last
stage. In the last stage, after consulting with your superiors you need to
decide which of them would be suitable for the position to proceed with
the further process.
Compensatory selection strategy- In this method, all of the assessment
tools are used at the same time to judge a candidate. This method makes
sure that the candidate is judged through all of the parameters at the
same time so that a right decision can be made and the candidate does
not feels that he/she has not been screened properly. Thus, you all as HR
managers need to use this strategy as well as and whenever required by
our organization.
