Reflection
We were four people and completed a presentation on the topic “harassment at workplace”. The
main challenges of managing task 1 and 2 from the seminars, was selection of the organization
for the presentation. The next challenge was to maintain cooperation among the team members
for the work. Another challenge was to work collaborate regarding the execution of the tasks
among the team members. Another challenge was regarding the division of the tasks and
activities among the members.
The team approached the tasks sincerely but there was absence of collaboration among the
members. I had worked with some of them before in other assignments and knew that they might
not agree with my decision. But, it was a surprise for me as each of the members of our group
expressed their ideas, and as a result, we all came to a mutual decision.
The challenges of cooperation, coordination and improper research aroused among the team
members in order to execute the tasks. I think that our understanding and my need for taking
responsibilities helped in reducing the challenges.
There was an alignment of ‘ways of managing’ with that of the management values and beliefs
as each of us were knowing that without taking help from others, the entre task cannot be
completed successfully.
The challenges were handled sincerely during the task but it should have been done with more
perfection. I agree that the issues were handle sincerely but there was scope to improve the work
activities by handling the issues more gently.
In the future, while doing things differently, I believe I would like to take a utilitarianism ethical
approach as it will help to improve most to my personal beliefs and values. I will divide the tasks
as per the skills, knowledge and ability of each of the members and will ask them to work in a
collaborative manner.
