Analyzing UK Government's HRD Initiatives: Training & Development

The report also assesses the impact of the 'Competency Movement' on both the public and private sectors of the UK economy after the recession, noting the increased demand for higher-level competencies and the influence on international business performance. Finally, it discusses the contribution of contemporary training initiatives introduced by the UK government, such as the University for Industry, Apprenticeships, and Train to Gain, in enhancing human resource development within public and private companies by increasing employee skills and knowledge and promoting HR policy development.

INTRODUCTION
Human resource development acts as a schema to develop skills
and knowledge in the employees of the organisations. These
skills include personal skills as well as organisational skills of
the workers. The main aim of the human resource development
is to provide proper training, mentoring, coaching etc. to the
organisation's work force so that the efficiency of performance
and overall productivity is enhanced.

4.1 Role of UK government in training, development and lifelong
learning for under 25's sector
• The governmental bodies in UK needs to pay more significance on
the training and development programmes. The government carries
the objective of providing opportunities to the people who do not
have the access yet.
• The motive is to eradicate the difficulties coming across the
employability for all. The life long learning is motived significantly
in order to provide opportunities to large number of organisations
and people.
• Elimination of social discriminations is the prime aim of life long
learning. Social discrimination removal will create equal
opportunity of employment for everyone and increase the overall
employability.
• Government plays significant role training government can
provide internal development program to a standard level. They
provide training facility at low cost that employees can easily
develop their skills.

4.2 Impact of development of the ‘Competency Movement’ on
both the public and private sectors of the UK economy after the
recession
• Public and the private sectors in UK have been directly and
indirectly affected by the development of the 'Competency
Movement'. The demand of higher level of competencies have
been enhanced.
• Use of information, evolving technologies and increment in
demands of skills and knowledge have led to increase in
complex and dynamic fiscal conditions.
• In the international business performance of UK have been
mainly measured by these competencies.

4.3 Contribution of contemporary training initiatives introduced by
the UK government in the human resource development of both
public and private companies
• Introduction of university for industry
• Apprenticeship
• Train to gain
These three initiative that is apprenticeship and train to gain, help in
development of HR policies. Through the help of this discrimination
can be avoided. Further, train gaining help in HR development as it
lead to increase employment level and government invest in providing
training and development. These all help in developing human
resources because it leads to increase skill and knowledge of employees
and if employees work hard then they can easily lead to develop
different skills improve their performance.
