4. Analysis of the charts
4.1 Work breakdown structure
The WBS that is developed is one of the significant project deliverables that help in
successfully managing the project work. The WBS that is developed for HRIS helps in reflecting
the duration as well as the cost that is required for executing each of the work processes (Siami-
Irdemoosa, Dindarloo & Sharifzadeh, 2015). It is analyzed that the WBS that is developed is
quite helpful in designing as well as organizing the work of the project successfully.
Additionally, the WBS which is developed is helpful in successfully managing the entire project
by properly monitoring, assigning resources and by allocating resources effectively.

4.2 Gantt chart
A Gantt chart is defined as a type of bar chart which assists in elaborating the project
schedule for reflecting the dependency between the activities as well as the present schedule
status. The Gantt chart that is created for the HRIS system helps in showcasing the time that is

required for properly accomplishing each of the activities of the project. They also reflect
important information including the resources that are assigned to the task, overlapping of the
project activities as well as the duration of tasks including the starting and closure date (Ong,
Wang & Zainon, 2016). In addition to this, the Gantt charts are helpful in planning, scheduling
as well as in successfully managing the project. There are a number of benefits that the project
team achieves after creating the Gantt chart. As communication is one of the integral parts of the
project, and therefore, proper communication is required for successful project execution. It is
analyzed that the Gantt charts help in providing proper crystal-clear communication and further
assist the project team in communicating properly by improving the relationship with the entire
team.
Moreover, it eliminates the requirement for having a different tool for effectively tracking
the entire communication procedure that is mainly used in the project. Furthermore, the
utilization of Gantt charts assist in avoiding the issue of resource overload and further helps in
measuring the progress of the entire project. Better time management can also be practised
successfully by properly understanding the severity of time delays for managing the entire
project properly (Sharon & Dori, 2017). Gantt charts help in giving much clarity within the
project and as a result, the workers able to get a proper understanding of the project activities and
that further assists in finishing the project successfully. The Gantt chart that is provided below
reflects on the task dependencies and showcases the activities that overlap or get completed
simultaneously. By getting the proper idea from the Gantt chart, one can get an idea about the
project progress and then capable of accomplishing the work with equal responsibilities.
The Gantt chart has a feature as per which the project manager can be capable to
determine the progress of the project for enabling one to make different types of changes within

the strategy if the schedule is found to be lagging behind. It is analyzed that as the project
managers have the capability of updating the finished percentage pf project tasks and thus, this
information is found to be very much helpful in keeping the entire project on the right track.
Moreover, resource overload is one of the issues that a project manager can face while executing
the project but with the help of Gantt chart, this problem also gets resolved (Nurre & Weir,
2017). This is because the Gantt chart helps the staffs of the project to utilize the assigned
resources within the project quite effectively so that the entire project gets finished as per the
initial timeline that is created within the project initiation phase.

4.3 Pert chart
A PERT chart is considered as one of the PM tools that helps in providing a graphical
representation within the entire timeline of the project. It is found that the PERT chart assists in
breaking down the various tasks of the entire project for undertaking the proper analysis. The
main advantage of using the PERT chart is that it helps in analyzing the project activity. The
project manager mainly views the information such that the entire project gets completed on
proper time and budget by successfully viewing the evens (Srivastava et al., 2017). Moreover,
PERT helps in improving planning as well as helps in making proper decisions by successfully
integrating and presenting different types of data from a number of departments. It is analyzed
that gathering of both qualitative as well as quantitative data from different sources is generally
helpful in properly coordinating the activities of the project for improving the communication
among different departments (Singh et al., 2015).
Moreover, PERT mainly needs the activities of the project that generally get sequenced
within the network under proper rules that further elaborate the critical path within the entire
project. It is considered as the longest sequence of the project activities and helps in identifying
the number of days that are needed for finishing the work of the project successfully (Evdokimov
et al., 2018). In addition to this, the what-if analysis that is done with the help of PERT chart is
generally helpful in properly highlighting the activities with highest risks of the project which
further needs proper as well as successful monitoring of the project risk. The PERT chart that is
created for the human resource information system project for Blach construction company is
reflected below. The PERT chart that is created reflects not only the early start, early finish, late

start and late finish but also the slack for each of the project activities that is further beneficial in
reflecting the dependency of the event.

4. Discussion of the present industry best practices and new engineering and
PM approaches
Current best practices by the HR department
Presently, the human resource departments are trying to provide best practices as well as
processes for managing the HR departments of the organization. It is found that the development
of safe, healthy, as well as a happy workplace by the HR department, helps in ensuring that the
employees do not get pressurized. The HR department develops a proper evaluation system that
helps in linking the performance of various individuals in order to undertake a number of
business priorities as well as goals (Marchewka, 2016). In addition to this, the HR department
utilizes proper systematic approach for ensuring that knowledge management helps in supporting
different types of strategies. It is found that different types of knowledge are stored within the
database for providing proper access to the information that is posted by the company on the
knowledge portal. In addition to this, currently the HR department award bonuses or different
