globalization, the employment relationship has been affected all over the world. in the last
three decades, the employment relations in Britain has undergone various reforms. At the
first, the employment relationship was not important for the organizations but now there has
been a change like collective bargaining and the decline in the trade union recognition
(Helfen, Schüßler and Sydow, 2018). It has been seen that due to this the strike activities also

of the conservative Governments, It has been seen that there was a decline in the Union
membership. There has been a significant change in the trade union as now they're not
making any influence in the dealings with the management it is not worth anything. It can be
observed that there was an impact of the Employment Relations Act 1999 on the trade
unions. There has been an extensive concurrence done between the two with employers
recruiting managers with a capability to deal with unions, which show no aggression in the
direction of unions, and unions tolerate the legal law interference by the government. It has
been seen that there are many European Union directives, which regulates the relationship
between the employers and the employees, and these apply across all the member states of
the EU (Kochan and Riordan, 2016). However, it has been seen that each country has
implemented the directives into its own legislation. Moreover, the relationship between the
workers and the employers can be very different in other European Economic Area (EEA)
countries (Nikolaou and Oostrom, 2017).
