INTRODUCTION
Planning the career is the self responsibility. Today's competitive labour market and
complex business environment requires effective planning regarding career to become
successful. One needs to do lots of research and also use the employability centre in universities.
The report briefly describes the ideal career for individual in selected industry and also describes
the various internal and external factors that can affect the chosen career path.
MAIN BODY
Describe ideal career in given industry
Career is defined as the sequence of jobs that person does for living and career planning
is a process through which one can select career paths and career goals (Wildschut and Meyer,
2016). The career planning encourages own-self for exploring and gathering information that can
enable me to synthesise, gain skills and competencies, make decisions, setting goals and
objectives and taking actions. Career planning is considered as the continuous process.
I chose the ideal career as an human resource manager because it is present in almost
every industry. The hospitality industry aims at recruiting talented employees and requires
effective HRM that can make use of different HR practices and achieve overall goals and
objectives. Career goals are referred as the desired future position and it helps me to strive for
reaching as a part of the career and in present report, it is Human Resource Manager. The
sequential patterns of different jobs during my career are considered as the career path. This is
the long term perspective of job.
The digital marketing can bring effects on HRM as they can make effective use of it. The
digital marketing can be used for recruiting employees, or using digital marketing for doing
promotions and job advertisements. My selected career choice has two main roles in HR
department and it can be providing training and development programs, conducting interviews
and applying various HR practices (Wildschut and Meyer, 2016). The legal department plays
important role in the HRM and also in day-to-day operations. There are various legal
requirements in HRM that needs to be compiled and adhere to.
Career in HR management has a great growth in terms of pay scale and position in any
organisation. Each and every hospitality organisation such as Hotels or Tourism companies are
looking for effective and skilled human resource managers in order to develop strong workforce

for their business. This is the reason I and huge number of individuals selects this career path to
achieve success in their career.
Explanation of internal and external factors that could affect chosen career path
There are various factors that can affect my chosen career path. Understanding and
planning career is a critical aspect as it get influenced and impacted by many factors (PFP and
Cara Smith, 2016). One can make choices for career planning through researching regarding
personal skills, competencies, interests, values, leisure activities, personality type and
preferences.
Internal and external factors which can affect chosen career path are explained as follows:
Parents/ Family: This factors can bring influences on my career path. Parents or family can urge
individual for selecting a career path that can demonstrate high money or earning power. The
professional history of parents also impacts the career path and choices.
Earning potential: This factor can bring great influences on the career choices as this is
considered as the most important factor. The financial aspect or earning potential impacts career
path and career selection to a great extent. Every individual has different needs and way of living
that requires financial aspect for fulfilling it. Therefore, in my career path as well earning
potential factor can bring changes.
Economic and social conditions: the issues or aspects related to social and economic condition
can also impact the career choices. The chosen path my be in this report is hospitality industry
and role of Human Resource Manager and which could get affected and impacted by theses
conditions (Ito, Inohara, 2014).
Cultural background: The career path and choice of career could be affected and impacted by
cultural background. The regional area, cultural background, ethnic group can bring influences
on the future choices regarding career.
Previous Work experience: I do have positive role model in particular career path or having
positive experience in work and it can bring influences on the future career choices. I can also
select the previous career path in which I was having positive work experience or may reject if, I
did have negative experience.
Personality and Interests: The choices, tastes, tempers or preferences of people can make
influences on the career path or career choices. The selected career path or job role of my could
be influenced due to these factors.

CONCLUSION
Choosing and selecting career is responsibility of the person as it involves planning
effectively and taking necessary and required actions for obtaining education and trainings that
can provide support and help in achieving the career goals and plans. The present report is based
on the planning of career which individual can pursue in the near future.
