Development Plan
3M Company uses a formal development planning. The planning system in 3M Company
ensures to build the development plan in the right place. The company took help of the Eleven
local councils as well as the Department for the Infrastructure (DFL), which is responsible for
different types of planning application. The role of different departments in describing the
planning system is given below:
The role of the Department for the Infrastructure is to decide regionally the planning
applications significantly. It also reviews, monitor and implement the Regional
Development Strategy of the company and sets regional planning policies. It acts as
guidance, provides an oversight view to the local councils, makes further decision on the
performance council, and supports the local councils in providing support (Janamian,
Crossland, and Wells, 2016).
The role of the councils in the planning system is in the local development of planning,
proper management development and planning the enforcement. Here each council
creates a plan, which sets out how the council area should be looking like in the future. It
is their work to decide what should be the type and scale of development.
The development and the management decide the local as well as the planning
applications by granting and refusing the permission for planning (Okamoto 2016).
The process, which is used in the development planning, is described below:

Writing down the mission statement
Performing the GAP Analysis between the current sate and the vision.
Writing down the SMART Goals which can be shorter and longer depending on the
organization.

manage, they can adapt to the changes in the environment very easily. The young and high
talented new staffs will try to excel in their role and will try to impress the results provided by
them. This will help the organization in a better productivity as well as enthusiasm will be
created to get the best out of them (An, Ko, and Kim, 2015). The trained employees are easy to
manage as because their attitude towards the work will be more sincere in comparison to the
seniors.
