AI Summary
This essay addresses a performance issue encountered by Jim, a model employee who has recently been arriving late to work, disrupting the production line in his organization. As a manager, it is essential to identify the problems faced by Jim and motivate him by reminding him of his responsibilities and past contributions over nine months. The regular tardiness not only affects organizational productivity but also hampers Jim's personal efforts. Communicating the significance of performance appraisal and potential for advancement can inspire timely attendance. This reflects a broader principle that employee-organization collaboration is vital for achieving goals, as highlighted by Buckingham & Goodall (2015) and Van Dooren et al. (2015). The essay underscores the importance of aligning individual performance with organizational expectations to maintain productivity.

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
The essay focuses on the performance issue that Jim faced after being a model
employee in the organisation for 9 months. Recently Jim had been coming in late for work
that has caused problems in the production line. As a manager, it is needed to identify the
problems faced by Jim. Jim can be made to release that he is a responsible employee in the
organisation. The fact that for nine months he has been serving the organisation in an
efficient manner can be used to motivate him. The recent performance issue of the
organisation has been due to the late arrival of Jim. In this regard, it is needed that Jim is
given a proper knowledge of the rules and policies of the organisation. Being a little late can
be excused as people may have a problem.
However, being late on a regular basis can cause an issue at the time of appraisal of an
individual (Van Dooren, Bouckaert & Halligan, 2015). This needs to be communicated to Jim
in order to make him realise the importance of performance appraisal. The fact that Jim may
be in line for a bigger role in the organisation can get him to be motivated and report to the
organisation on time. As stated by Buckingham & Goodall (2015) employee and organisation
need to work together in order to organisational goals. The late log-in of Jim not only disrupts
the productivity of the organisation but also hampers personal time and effort of Jim.
