Experience of Group Activity in Seminars
Group activity is essential for every project work, and it also increases the working efficiency
during project work. A Group refers to as the segregation of individuals who helped individual
people in managing the work efficiently (Gill and Caza, 2018). Apart from that, the team is a
group of individuals who share the common team values, and all the team has their specific
challenges and objectives. Based on work team can be differentiated into various segments such
as Management team, self-directed team, Project team and multifunctional team. I have learned
the importance of teamwork through this project work. According to the Kolb’s experiential
learning theory, concrete experience with a view to the effectiveness of teamwork, observation
of group formation and group work effectively, abstract conceptualisation from experience, and
active experimentation process (Grady, 2017). These processes will help me to improve my skill
further, and knowledge regarding group formation and active cooperation will help me to
manage the toughest situation in an effective manner.
Concrete Experience: An effective teamwork has higher output in comparison to individual work
for that reason most of the organisations are focusing on teamwork to manage the overall work
perfectly in a given timeframe. Every member has separate roles but the central objective of the
work is the same for a reasonable contribution of each member is essential to make the project
success (Bailey et al., 2018). This seminal work also helps me to understand the active
coordination in a pressurised situation. Formation of groups during project work is also
important, and it also provides me with a different positive experience that is important to
improve my skill further (Banfield, Kay and Royles, 2018). I was the team leader of this group
so that it was very challenging for me to coordinate and communicated with all the members.
Decision making is one of the vital functions of the group and leaders needs to collect opinions
from all the team members for evaluation. Teamwork is vital for decision making, and that helps
to manage the pressurised situation in an effective manner.
Reflective Observation: Observation of managing teamwork will also improve my skill further,
and it is essential for me to manage the overall situation in an effective manner. In my team, all
the team members coordinate with me, and there is perfect communication among all the team
members leads to make the quality presentation in the seminar. My team was a high-performance

team, and all the members worked actively to fulfil the objectives effectively. A high-
performance team is essential for all the project works and that also provided us with high
competitive advantages during seminar presentation (Bailey et al., 2018). At the same time
recognise different stages of group formation such as forming, storming, norming, Performing
and Adjourning increase my concept further. Forming refers to an introduction between team
members, and storming is the stages of working together. In norming stages, all the members are
active works together, and in the performing stage, all the team members provide performance
works to improve quality (Forsyth, 2018). Adjourning is the last stage, and in this stage, people
evaluate their project and celebrate the success. The major characteristic of the high-performance
team is to deep trust among the team members, and it is essential to make the project work
successful.
Abstract Conceptualization: Identify the stages of group formation are also important for
improving my skill, and it will also provide me a high competitive advantage in future. Regular
brainstorming, problem-solving ability, supportive relation among the team members also
improved my project handling skill (Banfield, Kay and Royles, 2018). I was the leader of this
team so that I had the responsibilities to communicate with all the team members to gather data
on a regular basis. For that reason, it also improved my communication skill, and that is essential
to manage regular workforce perfectly. Controlling the team is also an essential part of teamwork
so that build proper relation with all the team members, motivate all the members in achieving
objectives, and active operation with the members also helps me to manage the overall project
work proficiently.
Active Experimentation: a Clear concept with a view to the subject also helps people to
accomplish the task quickly, so that recognise problem statement, identify the research
objectives, evaluate the literature, efficient data collection and analysis procedure also helped our
team to achieve success (Anderson and Sun, 2017). Value and implementation of this experience
in future will provide me higher opportunities and formation of the team will increase my project
quality further. Identification of different learning styles such as diverging, assimilating,
converging and accommodating also improved my logical skills and knowledge that helped me
in lucidly executing the project.

Personal Reflections on Employment
Job satisfaction is essential for all the individuals and proper satisfaction provides the individual
psychological satisfaction during work (Frankel and PGCMS, 2018). Working with Non-
Government organisations manly provides me satisfaction while working. Majority of the Non-
government organisation are focused on awareness programs and also working at the grassroots
level that is essential for community development. I also want to be part of the team who are
working for social welfare.
I will get more satisfaction in this organisation because I have excellent communication skills
and I have the ability to aware people with a view to different community problems. Proper
communication, hardworking, helping people who are underprivileged generally provides me
with mental satisfaction during work (Dawson, Veliziotis and Hopkins, 2017). All the Non-
government organisations have specific objectives and motivations, and the leaders always
motivate the staffs to achieve organisational objectives efficiently. The primary responsibilities
of the management are to recognise the problems faced by community people and gather data
through on spot survey the local people for identifying the factors that create problems
(Robertson and Kee, 2017). After the identification of the issues, the management team needs to
evaluate the problems thoroughly to generate some ideas to mitigate all the problems effectively.
All the team members provide their opinions and ideas, and the executive committee evaluates
the ideas for effective decision making (Ferilli et al., 2017). NGO’s mainly generate funds from
Central Governments and other different domestic and foreign business organisations.
In the case of other business organisation, the primary objective of the organisations is to
generate more sales two improve organisational financial position and brand image. It has been
identified that most of the business organisation provides competitive targets to their employees
to fulfil the corporate objectives (Frankel and PGCMS, 2018). Engagement in corporate social
responsibility program is very less, and the programs don’t have proper outputs. Most of the
business organisation is focused on expanding their business for improving their image and
profitability, but the NGO’s are focusing on developing livelihoods through different training
and skill development programs in the community (Ekstrand et al., 2018). Support the poor
people, aware people; secure the community health in rural areas. Some NGO’s are working for

animals and wildlife, and that is also an exciting job for me. Care for the helpless animal will
also provide me satisfaction during work. Make the people smile is the best achievement for me
and this profession also help me to gain knowledge regarding someone else’s life.
Proper leadership generally in the organisation also motivates other employees and it is essential
for psychological satisfaction leads to an increase in the rate of employee retention. The leaders
also communicate with others members, and they have focused on their goals (Dawson,
Veliziotis and Hopkins, 2017). The leaders mainly inspire people to manage the overall situation
effectively, and a good leader also takes initiatives for both organisational and community
development. Maintain proper relation with the local community is vital to collect the data
easily. Working with the local community, problem-solving and supports the local people also
improves organisational brand image quickly (Epstein, 2018). Maintain effective corporate
behaviour; effective teamwork will increase my knowledge quickly. At the same time, proper
coordination with the local community will enhance my personality, and problem-solving skill
leads to achieve the personal objectives efficiently.
Improvement self-identity is the best achievement for every individual for that reason involving
with social works generally helps me to improve my personality, problem-solving ability
(Ekstrand et al., 2018). Social work, social welfare generally provides me mental satisfaction so
that involved with this type of profession will me smile every time during work. The effective
organisational culture and discussion with a view to community problems will improve my
knowledge and help me to recognise the social factors that influence the lifestyle of people.
Active communication with other team members, motivate the other members to achieve the
central objectives perfectly, identification of problems are my major strengths (Epstein, 2018).
This strength will help me to identify and evaluate the social factors that affect negatively in the
community. Poor technical knowledge, lack of patience, lack of proper time management is a
major weakness that can hamper my career.
It is essential to address the weakness quickly, and that will help me to manage the overall
organisational work correctly (Robertson and Kee, 2017). Develop technical knowledge and skill
is essential for me to and that will boost my self-confidence. Proper technical expertise will help
me to store the gathered information in cloud storage. Adoption of technical skill will improve

multitasking ability of the individual for that reason I will set some specific targets such as join
in personal and skill development programs, join professional institutions to improve technical
skills, effective time management during the training program, to improve my self-position
further.
