Task 3:
Objective:
The objective of the interview is to evaluate the appropriateness and the skills and
competencies of the applicants for the position of the team leader in the organization. The
interview will be structured in nature as there is a need to analyse the skills and knowledge of
the applicants from every part. Hence the questions are needed to be structured and planned
from earlier (Spradley 2016). Along with that some informal exchange of personal
information will also take place. The questions are to be structured in such a manner that it
evaluates the skills and experience of the applicants and assesses whether the competencies
of the applicants are aligning with the desired criteria for the recruitment.
Length:
The interview length will be 70 minutes with a break up of 50+20 minutes dedicated
for the execution of two parts. The 50 minutes session will focus on the face to face interview
with the applicants. The 20 minutes session will be dedicated for the analysis and assessment
of the interview findings among the members of the interview panel. The number of the
applicants for 4 team leader posts is 8 each and it will take a day each for the 4 posts, in
conducting the interview sessions.
Interview Panel:
The interview panel will consist of 3 different individuals belonging to three
important parts of the organization. They are the HR Officer, Finance Department
Representative and the Area Manager.

Area Manager:
The main reason behind the inclusion of the area managers in the interview panel is
that the applicants who will succeed in the interviews will be subjected to report to the area or
regional managers on the progress of any project. The progress report shared to the area
managers will be passed to the President of the Asia Pacific Region for their assessment.
Hence the area managers will be significantly important part in the panel as their inputs
regarding the personality of the applicants will be much needed.
HR Officer:
The significant amount of experience in interviewing different individuals is a major
reason behind the inclusion of the HR Officer into the panel (Brinkmann 2014). Apart from
that the HR Officers are observed to have considerable amount of knowledge regarding the
business operation and rules and regulations of the organization. Hence it is significantly
important to have someone to analyse the quality and the personality of the applicants from
the organization’s point of view.
Finance Department Representative:
As the interview session will also include a 20 minute session for the discussion,
hence it is important to gather and note down some of the important points or findings of the
interview. The finance department will conduct the process of gathering important points and
apart from that the individual will also assess the strategies and the technique of the
applicants in reducing the operational cost of the projects.
It is worthy of commenting that the interview panel must include at least one female
member in order to make an unbiased environment for the female applicants.
