In the present business world management has evolved many concepts, strategies and
approaches. The following paper depicts the employee-employer relation by analyzing the
annual review of an employee Jim and due to past performance of Jim. Since Jim’s performance
have been declining the paper states the way to approach Jim regarding his performance and how
to keep Jim motivated to do its best in the company.
Senior Manager to Jim:
Jim you are an outstanding employee in the company for nine months and have given
productive results in the business. The company is very thank full and appreciates your work and
you are a great asset to our company, but it has been noticed that that since past few days you
have been coming late in the office and it disturbs the ethical and moral issues of the company.
Moreover it is causing big issues in the productivity of the company as the employees had to
wait before they can start their work. Jim your past performance is marked to be good and a
sudden change in the behavior does not conclude that Jim you being casual towards your work,
since you are coming late to office the management will try to know the reason behind the
casualty and negligence you have been showing lately. The management will understand if any
employee in the company is facing some problems regarding its job in the company or any
personal issues.
Is there something the company can do for you to sort out your problem that is hampering
your current situation and motivation towards your job? The management would try to fix the
issues and would highlight on the problems which you have been facing lately in the office. You
know what responsibility you carry for this company and therefore your effective attention is
very much necessary for the company to progress (Lin etal., 2019). Due to the casualties since

past few days it has started to cause problem in the production line of the company. The
productivity of the company has been declined to a greater extent therefore you know what role
you play in the company.
It would be very appreciable if you would focus on the current issue the management
trying to convey, as you are an important part of the company and your subordinates and
employees need your support and collaboration. Jim your presence and work is highly essential
for the productivity of the company. The quality of work you have been showing in the company
is very impressive but it lacks punctuality since some days and the management hopes better
response in the coming working days.
Therefore it is shown from the above conversation that how the employers maintain their
employee-employer relation in the companies and how they manage to balance an employee’s
positive and negative aspects while carrying out an employee’s annual review. In the following
essay psychological approach (Johns & Gorrick 2019) is been used by the manager to understand
the unusual behavior of Jim and face to face conversation by the manager is applied for better
annual review of performance.
