Introduction
For the purpose of enhancing the effective management, the strategic approach of
“Human Resource Management” is being followed & implemented by the different
business organizations for gaining the competitive advantage in the business market in
the effective as well as in an efficient manner. This concept helps the business
managers in maximizing the level of employees' performances to achieve the defined
aims & objectives of the business organization, effectively & efficiently. The complete
assignment describes the unique concepts of HRM with the help of the business
organizations of "Chocolate Presence" and "Microsoft". For enhancing the concept of
employee engagement, the effective schemes are being identified & developed by
Microsoft to lead the whole company towards the long term organizational growth &
sustainable development in an appropriate & suitable manner.

Introduction:
This report comprises of the various roles, responsibilities, and function of a Human
resource manager and how such functions can help chocolate presence to overcome
the employee turnover issue and quality of product issue. This report further discusses
the strengths and weaknesses of the selection methods used for the employees by
Chocolate presence.
A) explains the purpose of the HR function and its importance to the organization,
given its current problems and future plans for further growth.
The role of human resource management is to analyses and recruit human resources
for Chocolate presence. Human resource department is that part of an organization

The Selection methods used in this recruitment process comprises of a test taken of
English and math, as these both would be useful for greeting cards productions. HR had
decided to recruit employees through this selection process. Further, the candidates

who would be clearing exams with 50% of the marks, they would be preferred for the
interview process. The interview is an informal talk of 15 minutes. Hence it is important
to bring out some strengths and weaknesses of the selection process.
Strengths for the Conduction of test for the selection:
i. Test conducted would bring out the skills and candidates can be easily assessed
through the test taken of English and math.
ii. Such tests conducted will assess the candidate about his or her capability,
mental ability, liking skills, etc., and would be helpful for HR manager of
chocolate presence to evaluate whether he or she would be fit for the job
specified.
iii. Tests conducted for selection method would provide a uniform base to compare
the performance of the employees who would be recruited. Sometimes, such
tests would clear the dilemma of an HR manager to where to give the job to
which candidate (Kenthapadi, 2017).
iv. There are some traits which would be analyzed from such kinds of tests taken,
such as aptitude, temperament, mindset, and adjustability.
v. When such tests would not be conducted for the selection process, in such case,
when an employee will not be able to produce the output which chocolate
presence would have expected, that employee would be terminated.
Weaknesses of such tests conducted
i. Sometimes, such tests might not be able to test accurately, or we can say these
tests might skip some candidates who actually have good skills required for

ii. Cheating is always a threat to such tests conducted, the persons who are
conducting the tests can be biased to some group of candidates, which make
such tests unreliable.
The interview which is informal in nature should be made formal and a formal interview
should be conducted with more than 15 minutes, the person cannot be accessed

Chocolate Presence to enhance its selection process.
The business organization of Chocolate Presence should improve its process of
selection with the help of applying & implementing the potential improvements, which
are being given below:
The interview tests which are to be conducted by the business organization
should be checked regularly & modified with the changing period of time. The
main reason behind this improvement is that the numbers of failures are
increasing & they are to be selected, trained & retained for the longer period of
time (Lim & Ling, 2012).
The company should focus more on formal chat, rather than the informal chat so
that the defined goals & objectives can be achieved very appropriately & suitably
(Brewster, et.al. 2016).
Conclusion:
This report has concluded and discussed various roles and functions of the
Human resource manager and how these functions can overcome the issues
which chocolate presence is currently going on. It also critically analyzed the
selection methods used by chocolate presence.

The job posting is usually done to aware people about the job vacancies available in the
Chocolate presence. The job posting can be done internally and externally. There are
certain advantages and disadvantages of Internal job posting such as:
Advantages of Internal job posting:
i. As Chocolate presence require an existing employee to be recruited for another
job post, it is easy for an existing employee to grab it as he or she is very well
aware of the culture and environment already, and even it would be helpful for
chocolate presence because of they are already aware of the capabilities of that
employee.
ii. It would be beneficial for an existed employee for this new recruitment because
the working hours and routines would be almost similar, hence employees won't
