INTRODUCTION
Every organization needs to focus on each and every department so that they can easily earn
more profit and improve their market position. There are various departments in an organization
like marketing, finance, human resource, production and operation department. every department
are responsible for the success of the organization but without HR department it's difficult to
maintain organizational activities and manpower in a systematic way the importance of HR
department is more of organizational development (Fei and Aun, 2019). HR department mainly
focus on human resource management which can help to maintain each and every activities
related to employees such as salary, wages, compensation, incentives and day to day task.
Human resource department is responsible for recruitment, selection, induction, training and
development, compensation, job design, job analysis and performance appraisal of each and
every employee in an organization. The main purpose of this report is to discuss about the HR
practices and functions of the Morrison's organization, which is considered the most famous
British multinational retailer supermarket and store chain that operates their business all around
the globe. This organization established in 1899 and headquarters in Brandford, England. This
organization founded by William Morrison's. This report will discuss about the purpose and
functions of HRM and also identify the strength and weakness of recruitment and selection
approach. Morrison's well established company so they are more focused about their Operations
and Strategies and set the business mission, purpose and objective effective which are discussed
below - Mission - To always provide best quality products and services for best for less. Purpose - To focus on the customer base so that company can create more loyal
customers and gain more profit advantages.
Business objective- To provide products and services at best possible cost which lead the
customer satisfaction.

essential for the development of employees and also organization. Description of all these
functions of HRM are discussed below- Job design & job analysis - HR manager need to new designer job as per the requirement
of the organization so that they can hire high skilled and potential employees which will
help to boost the performance and productivity of the organization. Morrison's company
need to focus on design the job and also job analysis (Mousa and Othman, 2020). Training & Development - This is most appropriate function of HRM that helps to
manage all the requirements of the employees related to their job role and also provide
classes and lessons which can aid in the career development of the manpower. With the
help of this function, employees can learn new skills and knowledge that will help in their
current job role. Performance Appraisal - This function can useful to evaluate the employees
performance level so that HR manager can easily analyze that weak performer and high
skilled performer on the basis of this manager can appreciate the talents and provide
guidance and support to the weak employees. Manager of the Morrison's can appraise the
good performance.
Compensation - this function help to attract the employees and motivate them to perform

report which can help to motivate employees like compensation, monitory benefits etc. This
report discussed about the importance of employees relation and why it is important for the
organization because it can help to reduce the conflicts and improve the motivation of the
employees. This report evaluated employment legislation that can help to protect the employees
and also maintain the privacy of the information of the organization with the help of equal act
and data protection act.
