Briefly describe which reflective model that you are using to help you reflect and write this
assignment
In order to write this assignment, the reflective model used by me is Gibb’s reflective cycle.
This has helped me in encouraging thinking in a systematic manner about the phases of the
activities as well as experiences and all such experiences must be made the headings in
order to structure the assignment. The Gibb’s reflective cycle helps in writing the assignment
in a well structured manner and sit is made of description, feelings, evaluation, conclusions
as well as the actions which have been used in the assignment writing and reflecting the
whole process. This model is very useful in exploring the situation by ourselves and can be
used for the purpose of writing the assignment from self experiences. There will be chosen a
situation in order to analyze and then the work will be done through all those steps
mentioned above.

learning
The ‘stop and think’ quote that has been experienced by me from the reading of the HRM
workplace practices is “Take time to deliberate; but when the time for action arrives, stop
thinking and go”. This quotation was really very helpful for me while my learning as it
supported me throughout my experience.
Reflect on the meaning of this quote and how it has helped develop your understanding and
knowledge of Human Resource Management in work place settings.
As per the quote provided above, it is necessary to take the time in thinking about each and
every aspect at the workplace regarding the human resource management practices but
when there is requirement of taking the necessary actions then one should stop thinking and
then start their activities in order to apply those management practices. Thinking is not
enough it is very necessary to apply things in real life and take the necessary steps to do so.
This quotation has helped me in developing my understanding and the knowledge of HRM in
the workplace setting as it is necessary to apply such quotation in the real life situation.

Using the reflective model you have chosen describe what happened
The reflective model chosen was Gibb’s learning cycle. During reading and writing the
assignment first of all I chose a situation which was given in the assignment brief then I
started giving the description about what actually happened in that situation. After
describing, I started to encourage myself to feel about what I actually experienced during
writing such assignment. I asked myself different questions regarding what were my feelings
before such situation took place. After such step of feeling at the next stage of evaluation I
analyzed that what steps went good and what methods went bad. All the negatives as well
as positives were evaluated. The next step was the conclusion where I concluded that what
actually happened in that particular situation of writing the assignment related to human
resource management. At the end of such reflective model application, the actions were
decided which can be made in future in order to handle the same kind of situations (Tanaka,
et. al., 2018).
Analyse your experience, pay particular attention to your own thoughts, feelings and
behaviors.
My experience during writing such assignment was quite good and knowledgeable. I was
able to understand the things properly and regularly understanding new concepts regarding
human resource management applicable at the work place context. My feelings were
positive throughout the reading and writing of the assignment as I developed several
numbers of skills of mine and also found the improvement in my behavior as a professional. I
thoughts were positive throughout the assignment as I was doing research and enhancing
my knowledge base which can be helpful for me in future to develop myself as a
professional and secure some job opportunities for me. During such activities of learning and
writing, there was a feeling of satisfaction as I was able to writ all the important notes after
analyzing the whole situation. Overall the experience was really good and it will also helpful
for me in future and I can use such experience in the workplace context (Stone, et. al.,
2015).

What did you find out? What were the good and no so good experiences you have learnt
from this reflection?
I got to know about several things during this reflection. I started getting to know about
several human resource management practices where I also had good as well as bad
experiences. I found out that how such management practices are being used in the
workplace context and how the people within an organization are managed so effectively.
The good experiences were that I developed my communication skills, research skills as well
as the analytical skills during such experience and on the other hand the bad experiences
were that it took a lot of time for me to understand all those concepts and make the research
on them. During this reflection, I also understand applying the Gibb’s model effectively and
writing and reflecting in an appropriate manner after analyzing the situation properly
(Jabbour, et. al., 2016).
Explain two areas of learning about applying HR practice in a work place setting that you
have learnt from this reflection and that you can take forward to help you in your own
professional development for the future.
1. One of the main areas of learning about applying the human resource management
practices at the workplace is I should develop my communication skills in order to
communicate and manage effectively the people at a workplace. I must be able to make
them understand and to make the flow of information to them in an easy manner. This skill
can be taken forward by me for my own professional development (Albrecht, et. al., 2015).

2. The other area of learning for the human resource management is performance
management as I will be able to manage the performance of the employees at a workplace
or within an organization effectively if I take forward such learning area further for my
professional development. his is a very important area of the human resource management
which must be considered by each person related to the human resource management.
