Project Aim / Problem statement
The aim of the project is to develop our skills to become Director of strategy management by
identifying the gaps in the existing working architecture of the company and to propose a
new project model for the development of the holiday park. The purpose of this project is to
sharpen our skills and expertise to choose Director of strategy management in the coming
future by analysing the problem domain of the given project case study.
The problem domain of the existing working business is that it can hold the minimum of 30
customers in their dining and living rooms. The net profit earned by the company is also very
limited. The family growth of the business partners requires the acceleration of the business
entities and net profit earned so that luxurious life can be lived.
Learning Outcome
We are able to learn following skills as the result of this project
 Development of the portfolio by developing log books, making project incident
diaries, collecting feedback report from the suppliers and supervisors
 Articulation of work and Mapping program for the examination of problems and
concern areas undertaken with the improvement plan
 Demonstrating the designing phase of the project to establish innovations and new
technologies for the betterment of the existing project
 Evaluation of the efficiency and effectiveness of project schedule

 Developing implementation plan for the proposed project (Kang, 2010)

 Identifying the risks and chaotic condition which can occur during the working hours
of the project (Burke, 2015)
Section 3: Justification
The completion of the project helps us to improve our decision making skills in critical
situation and developing the problem solving working environment. The problem solving
methodology helps in achieving project objectives and goal of the company. The organization
goal and objectives should be clearly defined and absorbed in the mind set before preparing
and developing project schedule because it will help in reducing errors in the project
schedule. We can judge ourselves that our communication skills and negotiation skills are
improved to a very extent. We can analyse the requirement of the stakeholder very easily and
satisfy him with our verbal communication only. The critical situation of the company can be
effectively handled.
From the study of the case scenario, we are able to highlight that I can become a good
Director of strategic management because we can easily analyse the problem domain of the
given project. The management of project activities and deploying effective communication
plan helps me to increase our communication skills to explore the problem domain
effectively. We were able to highlight the concern areas of the project by periodically
interacting with the team members.
Section 4: Methods
We have chosen a case study project for enhancing our skills and expertise as the director of
strategy management so that we can choose it in our near future. It helps us gaining real time
work experience to handle complex situation effectively. The analysis of the simulation
project helps in finding out the way for finding the problem domain and the proposed
solution for implementing the Holiday park project. The questionnaire round is arranged with
the top professionals and experts to interpret their ideas and thoughts on the transformation of
the existing business program. It helps in collecting innovative ideas for improvement and the
identification of problems and chaotic concern in the existing working scenario (Kerzner, and
Kerzner, 2017). We have collected literatures from different sources so that the new
parameters can be identified for improving the current business structure. The review of the
literature provides new direction to the research and helps in designing effective construction

program for the implementation. We have organized three surveys on the construction site
which are renovating their existing business with the new innovative ideas. It helps in finding
out the difficulties which can be faced in the construction program and risks factors which are
associated with the implementation of the project.
Section 5: Timetable
The success of the project depends on generating the weekly reports of the project so that the
monitoring of project activities can be managed. In the first week of the project we will focus
on setting goal and identify problem domain of the undertaken projects. In the second week,
we will organize the data collection procedures for analysing the requirement and presenting
new innovative platform for renovating the project. In the third week, we will develop the
project draft1 and submit it for approval. In the fourth week, we will submit second draft. In
the fifth week, we will submit full project report. I have prepared a Gantt chart for analysing
the work flow and scheduling of the project activities.
Section 6: Evidences of Accomplishment
By the end of this project, we are able to provide the evidences of accomplishment in the
form of project report, pestle analysis report, porters five force marketing analysis report,

Context Background
The project owners are looking forward to extend and transform their business from the small
guest house and dining hall to the Holiday Park resort for accelerating the net profit earned by
the organization. The net profit earned by the organization in their current situation is about £
140,000. The focus is to increase the turnover of the enterprise so that the business partners
can receive relevant amount of income to manage the expenditure of their families in an
effective manner. The lake side location from the Holiday Park is suitable for attracting the
customers from the worldwide. The proposal is to buy the land near the lake view so that the
customers get attracted towards the scenery and view point of the resort. The contract should
be signed with the contractor for managing the supply of the utility cabins and other raw
material required for the development of the new project.
Literature Review
The effectiveness of the construction program depends on the management sequence of
project activities with respect to the time and cost. The literature review study helps in
addressing the problem domain for analysing the requirement of the innovative program of
the construction procedures. The planning and control methodology helps in developing
effective communication links between the internal and external entities. The control
measures should be drawn for managing the demand and supply of the resources. The delay
of the project can be minimized by taking step forward in the direction of managing the
supply of the labour resources, raw material, coordination between the team members, and
financial status of the enterprise. The overall cost of the project can be reduced by developing
the project plan at an early stage because it helps in defining the cost associated with the

project activities. The construction planning procedure helps in minimizing the complexities
and risks associated with the project. The project can be executed in the control structure
format for improving the applicability of the tools and technologies used. The value added
information can be collected from different formats so that the new opportunities can be
created in the project development life cycle. The construction plan should be measured
under five different phase which are categorised as Define, measure, analyse, improve, and
control (Burke, 2015). The definition phase focuses on identifying the problem domain of the
undertaken project so that the complexities and risks associated with the project can be
identified at an early stage of the project. The measure phase focuses on measuring the
impact of risks on the project activities. The effective risks mitigation plans can be developed
to take proactive action plan for minimizing their impact on the project schedule and the
completion of the activities within the dedicated time and cost. The analysis phases analyses
the project sequence for finishing the tasks effectively (Turner, 2013). The improve phase
helps in the designing of the updated project schedule so that the chaotic environment at the
work place can be minimized. The control parameters help in defining the project schedule in
the systematic format so that the project can be completed within the scheduled time and cost.
The master plan of the project should be developed which helps in synchronising the critical
activities and sequence of steps in formalized format (Kang, 2010). The phase planning is
carried out for dividing the master plan into series of project sequence activities to achieve
the desired tasks. The working plan of the stakeholders is developed by giving proper
authorities and responsibilities to them. The division of role and responsibilities helps in
minimizing the chaotic environment in the working culture of the organization (Kerzner, and
Kerzner, 2017). The look ahead planning should be developed to provide equal opportunities
to the working team members at right time and in the right format. The medium term
planning should be done for minimizing the constraints and resistance between the
participating parties. The production of the construction project can be improved by
developing the weekly report of the staff members and the work completed in the given
period of time and cost. The focus should be given on minimizing the quality issues
associated with the end product of the project life cycle. The statistic report should be
collected periodically from different sources so that the work can be completed within the
given boundaries and constraints (Kharaiweish, 2013). The root cause analysis of the
historical project failure should be identified so that the problem domains can be optimized
during the project execution phases. The quality control parameters should be set to achieve
the ultimate goal of the project and increases the project turnover by accelerating the net

profit earned by the company. The safety parameters are projected for minimizing the impact
of working culture on the health and physical safety of the human resource. The hierarchical
plan of activities and organization chart should be prepared so that the division of work and
tasks can be done. The service level agreement is prepared between the contractor and project
owner so that the raw material and human resources can be supplied to the construction site
according to the demand placed by the team members. The technical support helps in
improving the construction plan of the undertaken project. The innovative ideas of the
consultant should be included in the project schedule so that the end product helps in
satisfying the requirement placed by the stakeholder in the requirement specification plan.
The analysis of risks and issues helps in managing the complexities effectively and results in
the smooth functioning of the development process (Lindh, 2013). The financial status of the
organization should be checked before the allocation of cost to each activities of the
undertaken project. The roles and responsibilities to the stakeholders should be provided
according to their capabilities and skills. The cost of the resources is scheduled on the basis
of per hour basis. The terms and condition should be clearly mentioned in the tender whom is
going to be signed between the contractor and organization so that the complexities can be
reduced between them (Mansfield community, 2013).
Project Phases
Project planning phase:
Land Acquisition:
The project starts with the acquisition of land. The land can be taken on lease or at rental
basis. Taking the land on lease is better option because the interruption of the land owner can
be minimized to a large extent. The land should possess the lake view which will help in
attracting the customers from various locations. The area should be equipped with natural
scenery view which gives the calm and soothing environment to the tourists.
Signing of the contract:
The service level agreement should be signed with the contractor for managing the supply
and demand of the resources at the construction site (LLveskoski, 2014). The terms and
condition should be clearly defined in the agreement to minimize conflicting environment at
work place.

Finalization of the proposal:
The proposal gets finalized after arranging meeting with the stakeholders and business
partners. The proposal should be sign off for the final approval and undertaking the designing
and development phase.
Development phase:
The designing and development phase is comply with the construction program for the
development of the holiday park. The construction program is having a series of activities
like arranging utilities, portable cabins, human resources, physical resources, and others.
Testing Phase:
The testing plan and procedures should be developed for analysing the efficiency of the
construction program. The evaluation score and weightage should be calculated for
evaluating and measuring the performance of the designed plan.
Implementation Phase:
The designed project is implemented for constructing the holiday park according to the
requirement of the project owner.

analysis helps in getting knowledge about analysing the market aspect in the development life
cycle of the project. The market analysis report plays a very important role in the
development of the project budget and schedule (Otieno, 2014).
Technical Skills: Installation of sensor devices and portable devices helps in giving
knowledge about the innovations in the field of technology.
Managerial Skills: Development of the project schedule and the designing of the project
phases helps in developing managerial skills.

Communication skills: The arrangement of the interview session helps in increasing the
ability to interact with different people and managing communication with the top
professionals and experts.
Project Monitoring Skills: It helps in identifying the gaps and obscure in the undertaken
project schedule so that the corrective action plan can be taken.
