Human resource development refers to the recruitment and selection of the talented
candidates within an organization. In this, department has the responsibility that is related to

different roles and responsibility of Human Resource Management. Here, chosen organization is
TESCO, which is a multinational company. In this report there is discussion about the scope and
purpose of Human Resource Management which is applicable to workforce planning along with
resources in the organization. There is also discussion about the strength and weaknesses of
different approaches which is there involve in recruitment and selection. There is also discussion
about the benefits of different HRM practices for both employee and employer. Along with this,
there is some description about the effectiveness of HRM practices which is there in the
organizational profit and productivity (Borghouts-van de Pas, 2017). There is an analysis of the
importance of employee relations to influence HRM decision. There is also discussion about the
key element of employment legislation along with their impact on the decision making. Along

Tesco is a multinational company, generally known as the British multinational grocery
and general Merchandise retailer. It is having the headquarter in Welwyn garden city, England
and this is third largest retailer in all over the world as per gross revenue. It was founded in year
1919 in hackney. London. Tesco is having the standard large supermarkets where they stock
groceries and much smaller range of non food items. Their shops has always been branded as
Tesco. They have numbers of shops, cafes and different new restaurant in shops. Tesco is a big
organization and due to this, they are having the different HR managers who are there for
managing and hiring for better business in which one of the main responsibility is to hire most
talented person for the specific job (Bondarouk, 2017).

HRM is an essential part of organization which have managing and organizing. In
relation to this, manager of Tesco should make sure that HR department is able to full fill their
