I would like to mention that studying Unit 7 about workplace fairness seemed useful
and beneficial for my future career and professional life. It is because I got to learn the
meaning as well as the importance of fairness to all in the workplace. When I learned about
workplace fairness I realized that it is all about respecting the key rights of all the people with
whom we work. In addition to that, Unit 7 allowed me to realize that working in collaboration
with others always facilitates a process of continuous improvement. Thus, I will always try to
achieve fairness in the workplace for the people I will work with.

In my opinion, progressive discipline refers to a process in order to deal with job-
related behaviour which does not fulfil expected as well as communicated performance
standards in an organization. I also believe that the key purpose of progressive discipline is to
help the employees while understanding that a performance opportunity or problem for
further improvement exists (Benson, 2015).
In this context, according to me, a company should always take the time and effort for
going through the progressive discipline process whenever an employee is found indulged in
disciplinary issues at the workplace (Bob, 2013). However, the company can always consider
offering termination packages to their employees who are having ongoing disciplinary issues
yet I do not consider it right. It is because by using progressive discipline the company can
have enhanced communication amid managers and employees (Schwind et. al., 2019). Apart
from this, the progressive discipline process typically helps managers to achieve higher
employee performance as well as productivity at workplaces.
