INTRODUCTION
Principle of care illustrates the ways in which social and health care providers should behave
or act towards individual in care (Mann and Walsh, 2017). The assessment includes reflective
account of learning about Principles of Care, outline of ways learning influence approach in the
sector and influence of experiences on personal development along with insight.
MAIN BODY
Producing reflective account through reflection model
Gibbs reflection model is one of reflective cycle used for structuring of learning from
experiences in an event. The model explains experiences and its cyclic nature allows to learn as
well as plan from things which went well and not went well. My reflection account on working
for ‘Principles of Care” are performed into various stages:
Description: For the assessment of Principle of Care, I have collected information about
all types of principles of care including aautonomy, privacy, confidentiality, effective
communication, respect and dignity from various sources. I have expected to complete the
assessment prior deadline and didn’t set schedule for activities. I have given enough time and
efforts of mine to produce coherent piece of work.
Feelings and thoughts: During the working for the project, I was feeling great as I have
gained huge knowledge about how to provide care to people ethically. However, when I realised
that I was not able to complete the project as I thought, I got frustrated. Later, it motivated me to
work harder and complete it before deadline. Looking towards my whole experience, I am
feeling satisfied as I have taken decision to put the work.
Evaluation: In the whole experience, the thing that went good was producing good
quality work and learning about principles of care. My efforts and hard work have contributed
positively in work ethics. At same time, the thing that didn’t well was assuming that I completed
the work in same manner.
Analysis: It has been analysed that I have enjoyed working in the areas which matches to
my strengths. Things went well because of collecting and scrutinising content have saved my
time to prepare the assignment. Things didn’t go well because of not planning activities and
taking suggestions from tutors.

Conclusion: From the whole project, I learnt about care, principles of care, motivational
factors for providing care services and impacts of legislations, code of conduct together with key
legislation in practices of health and social care. In order to handle situation similar to it, I need
to develop various skills that are time management, decision making, planning and critical
thinking skills.
Action plan: In case, if I require to perform same things, I would develop planning skills
and time management skills so to set proper schedule for activities and manage time in
completion of assessment. To develop planning skill, I will stay focused, play mind games, stop
procrastination and accept complexities. Moreover, time management skill would be developed
through prioritising wisely, removing non-essential activities, setting goals correctly and play
time management games (Ziebart and MacDermid, 2019).
How such experience influence personal development and insights
With the experience of working in Principle of Care, it influenced my insights for adhering
principles to provide care practices to vulnerable people. At same time, it can develop me
personally through building various skills that are planning, time management and so on so to
complete activities effectively in similar situations.
CONCLUSION
From the reflection, it is concluded that Gibbs reflection model is effective. It includes six
stages that are description, feelings and thoughts, evaluation, analysis, conclusion along with
action plan.
