This presentation consist of the use of ICT in the HSC
organisation. How a company can use the benefits of ICT
in its operation by using relevant software of ICT.

3.1 Standard ICT software packages to support
work in HSC
There are several packages of ICT software which support
work in HSC setting and they are as follows:
General Purpose Packages:
 Database Package: Used to store information.
 Spreadsheet Package: Used for calculation.
 Communication Software: Used for communication.
 Presentation Graphics Package: Used to create slide
shows and presentations.

3.2 Benefits of using ICT in Health and Social
care
ICT concerns with exchange of information and sharing
things. This could be very useful tool in HCS to communicate
and share the data to the employees and well as the patients.
This will save time and the information would be
communicated very effectively to the people who required it.

3.3 Legal considerations in relation to ICT
As the organisation of HSC operates in a country so it
has to follow the rules and regulations made by the
government. These rules and regulation concerns with the
following:
 Misuse of computer act 1990: This concerns with
the misuse of computer for ill-practices in relation
with the computer and the ICT technology which is
being made by the government to protect the theft
to information.

 Data Protection Act 1998: This act aims at
protecting the data of the organisation which relates
to the customer as well as the employees to not
misuse it and to not forward it to any person who
has no authority to use it.
