INTRODUCTION
Human behavior is the response of individuals or groups of humans to internal and external
stimuli. It refers to the array of every physical action and observable emotion associated with
individuals, as well as the human race. A mental health disorder characterized by persistently
depressed mood or loss of interest in activities, causing significant impairment in daily life. This
report includes topics such as influences on IQ by relationship between environmental and
biological factors. Differences in personality due to mental illness and severity of mental illness.
This report gives a brief analysis on the symptoms of the disorder, level of occurrence and
intensity of symptoms so that the condition of the patient can be assessed that whether or not it
can get better with time. This report gives a brief analysis of the severity of mental illness and
how it can affect the social and occupational events. All the aspects and theories are highlighted
which is done by the researchers in order to assess the condition or the impact of the illness on an
individual (Zipf, 2016).
Relationship between environmental and biological influences on IQ
Mental illness creates one of the most challenging problems related to health which is
faced by the society. Many of its cases is required to be treated in hospitals. This affects the
productivity in huge numbers and increase the cases of suicide (Denhardt and et.al., 2018). It has
been proven by the scientist that depression among people and the reduction in the level of IQ of
people is related to combination of genes and environmental factors. On the basis of many
research it has been stated that mental illness is related with biological aspects. Biology has
become more clearer which is the reason why depression in people can be understood in a more
precise manner. There are many number of circumstances which can lead to stress on the brain
of a person such as sexual abuse, victim to crime, going through a breakup. Also they believe
that circumstances or situations such as these leads to reactions which are primal. For instance
loosing a loved one or danger. This situation affects the mental condition of the person where
they cannot focus on anything but the situation and this affects their IQ as slowly they loose their
ability to perceive other things which requires intellectual thinking. Feelings which make people
think about loosing things is the state where they are in depressive condition. Other than this
when they feeling angry about something that stage lead to anxiety disorder. It does not matter if
this factor works as an individual or in combination it makes an interaction with the vulnerability

of genetics and alter the chemistry of brain which leads to altering the mental health of an
individual (Neff, 2017).
Differences in personality due to mental illness
In order to assess the relationship between personality and mental illness it is necessary to
understand the issues and personality mechanism of an individual. In order to conceptualize the
personality two components are assessed that is temperament which is linked upon the biological
aspects. These emotions emerge at early stage and create stable differences in the regulation of
business. These are the level of individual differences that occur due to the factor of socialization
(Shinar, 2017). The traits of personality includes the characters of temperament which has the
stability of span of life and biological bases. Personality is based on the model of big five traits
that includes neuroticism, extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness and openness. There
are many models which state the relation between mood disorder and personality. There are
many allegations to it such as both of the aspects is the reason because of factors which are
common, both of them form a spectrum which is on a continuous basis, depressive disorders are
considered as precursor for personality, causes effects which are pathoplastic for depression,
features of personality are dependent on state which occurs episodes for people. These models
are classified into groups so that similarities can be figured out in influences which are casual
between depression and personality but they do not have an impact on each other. Other models
assess the casual effects and maintenance of depression. Also what effects depression does on
personality of an individual is assessed. The model of common cause are distinct in personality
and depressive disorder. This model states that both of them are not related directly but they are
influenced due to the etiological factor. On the other hand continuum spectrum model states that
overlap and issues between disorders and a set of trait of personality. It stands that the
differences between both the aspects arise from factors which are casual. Also the relationship
between the trait of personality and disorder of depression is specific because of the continuum
that is safe. There are different models and all of them has different relation between depression
and personality. The system from which it is derived is based on the factors which are assessed
from the clinic and approximately distinction of ecological factors. It is necessary to consider
heterogeneous factors into account so that important relevance between them is not missed out.
There are different type of test which helps to figure out the relation between traits and
depression and will understand the level of symptoms (Smith, 2017).

Severity of mental illness
Severe mental is referred by the period of the time and the level of disability it produces.
This type of illness consists of disorder that lead and cause to symptoms which are psychotic
such as schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder and major forms of other different disorder.
For instance severe depression and bipolar disorder. There are thought orders which can be
derived when a person is facing either delusions, hallucinations, distortion of perceptions and
behavior which are unusual. Symptoms of it lays a personal loss, these type of disorders are also
known as psychotic disorders. Mental illness which is severe is known to be treatable by
managing the illness and providing the treatment in a proper way. Severity of depression is
related with health and quality of life. In the cases of depression there are many controversies
that what treatment and to what extent it must be provided at the first meeting or intervention.
There are some elements which help to assess the severity levels of depression in DSM 5. For
instance no of symptoms, level or the impact of distress it causes to an individual and the
intensity of occurrence of system and the issue of impairment at social and occupational events.
The classification is done even for disorders which occur at normal level. Depression is
considered on mild stage when not all of the symptoms occur in a person and these symptoms
create problems but it can be managed and controlled. Other than this it impairs at a minor level
in the functioning of social or occupational events. Depression is considered as severe when the
symptoms are excess and creates a problem in forming up a diagnosis for it and when the level of
symptom can neither be managed or controlled. Other than this there are also other factors
which helps to get the severity of diagnosis that is attempt of suicide and the critical need for
admitting the patient to hospital (Bickerton, 2017).
CONCLUSION
From the above studies it has been concluded that depression can affect the IQ of the person as it
steals the clear state of mind of a person and diverts the focus of mind which affects the state of
brain to process other things. Its like getting stuck at one thing and not moving on. This leads to
mental disorder and anxiety disorder. Different people have different symptoms of this illness.
Some of them has high level of intensity and some of them has low. Sometimes attempts made at
suicide or another big step helps to know that the illness is severe and it is necessary to
hospitalize the patient. If the symptoms are not highly intensive then the condition can be cured

with proper treatment and some time. It is easier if care is taken at the initial stage of the incident
or the occurrence of symptoms otherwise it creates difficulties and less possibilities to cure the
patient. There are many theories which assess the relationship between trait of personality and
depressive disorder but it is considered as biased that is why condition is judged on the basis of
clinical trials and diagnosis.
