What is the importance of human biology in psychology?
In psychology a psychologist is looking for the study of human brain and perspective. The
biological perspective reflects studying physical basis of human behaviour. It has been
identified that the human genetics and biological system is very important while
understanding the human behaviour as it involves immune system of an individual, brain,
genetics and nervous system. This reflects the contribution of nurture versus nature in the
study of psychology. The study reflect that environment that is responsible for shaping
behaviour of human, that is the nurture side reflecting role of human biology in psychology.
Considering the literature, Charles Darwin has studied and introduced genetics and has
evolved this idea as role in human behaviour (researchgate, 2018). The study reflected that
natural selection has impacted certain behaviour patterns of an individual that are transferred
to future generations. Considering age of survival behaviour is one of the aspects that are
more likely to transfer like inherited in next generation. The biology reflects an aspect of
looking human actions and problems considering issues like emotions, and aggression. In
psychology, psycholinguistic perspective may reflects this behaviour of aggression as
unconscious urges or childhood experiences but considering the behavioural perspective this
reflects shaped by association, punishment and reinforcement. Therefore, the biological
viewpoint reflects major relevance in the psychology understanding the biological roots and
the cause of particular behaviour of an individual. One of the benefits of using biology in
psychology is to analyse psychological problems of an individual resulting in more practical
and reliable results. Moreover, more useful treatments could be researched biologically for
psychological disorders (thriveglobal, 2019).
