Career management is combination of structured planning as well as active management
choice of one's own professional career. Aim of this report is to understand what skills and
knowledge have to be required in individual who is graduated (Gati and Levin, 2015). In this
assignment specialised area chosen in Human Resource which is important part of an
organisation as play several essential role such as recruitment and selection, employees welfare
and many more. Sector selected within this area is travel and tourism which is fastest growing
industry now a days as well as having large number of job opportunities for graduate people.
Moreover, this project will going to discuss general trends which will impact on HR profession
as well as travel and tourism industry. Along with this, skills, knowledge and experience
required for working in respective industry will going to be highlighted within this project. In the
end, job vacancy will be identify for getting better career opportunities.

Travel and tourism industry is wide sector as well working with one common goal i.e., to
provide necessary product as well as services to travellers. Respective industry has become
largest civilian industry in word, as per the statistics every one person is part of respective sector
out of ten (About Travel and Tourism Industry, 2018). In addition to this, Travel and tourism
industry is classified within five major parts such as lodging operations, transportation services,
food & beverage operations, retail stores and activities.
Human resource is an division within an organisation which is responsible for all the
activities related to staff members. There are several activities performed within respective
division such as recruiting, vetting, selecting, hiring, on-boarding, promotion, paying,
independent contractors and many more. Most important is that HR department stay on new
legislation guiding like how employees have to be treated while working, hiring as well as firing
process.

travel and tourism industry as it become much different because of its multicultural nature.
Within this industry mutual relation will created within local community and tourists where both
of them will know and exchange new cultures (Murata and Nishimura, 2015). In addition to this,
globalisation result in increasing number of tourist and activities of organisation working within
this sector. So for respective sector it is necessary to prepare professional staff members for
managing overall activities within effective manner. Along with this, it will help in serving
customers within effective manner and result in making them satisfied. Thus, globalisation have
wide impact on travel and tourism industry by increasing number of tourism and business
opportunities which result in generating several job opportunities. On the other hand,
globalisation have impact on Human resource professional because work of this department
increase when organisation start doing their work at global level. For conducting daily operations
there is requirement of hiring more staff members for conducting daily basis work in more
effective manner. Thus, work of human resource executive will increase as they have to arrange
training and development session for their existing as well as new staff member (Lämsä And et.

Decision making skills – There are lots of decision making which involved within the
area of HR executive. For instance, within recruitment process there is requirement to
decide whether candidate is suitable for vacant job position or not.
Training and development skills – This is important function which HR executive have
to perform because they are responsible increasing performance, skills and knowledge of
staff members. As it is important to have training and development skills.
Organisational skills – HR executive must have organisational skills because they have

to build good relation with staff members because it will result in their satisfaction as
well as long term retention within organisation.
Training and development – I am good in designing as well as providing training and
development session to staff members. That will help in developing skills and knowledge
related to specific area.
