INTRODUCTION
Career refers to the professional capacity that is chosen by an individual to pursue in the
future. This choice of career is based upon different capabilities and abilities. This report is
prepared with the purpose of evaluating skills and knowledge required for taking on the career
choice of Human resource manager (Akhtari, Sowlati and Griess, 2020). Human resource
manager is an individual in an organization who is responsible for managing employees and
workers of firm. Major responsibilities of this position is to hire, select, employ and also
maintain relations with employees of the company. This report is basically concentrating on the
discussion of personal evaluation through own SWOT analysis and also through skill audit.
Apart from this, career action plan will be illustrated by focussing on personal development and
achieve stipulated targets.
MAIN BODY
Personal analysis
For building career in the department of human resource management, it is important for
an individual to possess some skills and capabilities which can be used to fulfil their roles in an
efficient manner. There are some traits those are necessarily be possessed by an aspirant of
human resource career. These capabilities will help that person to gain knowledge related with
this field, such as, theories and models of this department. To carry out this whole process, most
important step is the self evaluation program. This evaluation process will help a person to
develop further his skill set. In case of HR professional, there is a wide range of list those include
capabilities, skills and knowledge set needed to make the profile even more attractive. These
skills are related with covering up all standards needed for improving profitability level in firm.
Various skills needed for getting success in HR profession are listed below:
Communication skills: major objective of any Human resource manager is to interact
with employees so that to make them aware of different policies and strategies
formulated at management level (Baillie, 2017). This will make the operations smoother
and also will help the employee to work with more efficiency. This will help an
individual to gather more information and also to formulate better strategies, in addition
to this, employee retention is very necessary in a company and this can be only made
possible through establishment of strong employee relations between employees and

employer. This is the role that is taken forward by human resource department. They also
play the vital role of satisfying employees by solving their problems and issues. It is the
main responsibility of human resource manager to gain deep knowledge of all laws
governing employees so that legal activities can only be performed (Briller and
Goldmacher, 2020). Furthermore, to communicate these policies to employee level,
again, communication skills comes in role and makes in important for human resource
manager to improve these skills. Networking skills: The HR of the organisation should be people's person and he should
be communicating the strategies of the organisation to employees. The organisations have
many employees and they have different need which the HR should understand because
they have to increase the satisfaction of the employees. They should help the employees
and network with them because they want to select the best employees and help them in
building long term relations with the organisation (Flöthmann and Hoberg, 2017). The
employees have to coordinate the work with different departments and HR should help
them in networking when they are selecting and should share the strategies with the
employees of the organisation.

career field. After determination of skills and capabilities, next step is to identify various
methods and techniques required to improve these skills. It is important to conduct self
evaluation programs so as to determine different sources those can be used to improve skills and
capabilities. These sources can be attending conferences, symposiums, online media and various
other aspects. Above formulated plan and strategies can be used to gain growth if future
prospective in field of professional life. This report also helps to analyze the time frame that is
required to gain the desired objectives and goals. One important step in this plan is to receive
feedback from peers and superiors also so as to actual position can be determined.
