1ENGLISH ESSAY
I am a person looking to pursue a bachelor’s degree, namely a BS in Human Resource
Management and I also intend on undertaking a course of study that will help me become an
academic athletic advisor. I am personally very fond of engaging in sporting activities and I
would love to pursue a career that not only involves the handling of human resources but which
also involves training student athletes in being hugely successful at sporting events, with both
such professions being those that I am most well cut out for.
I will require financial aid or a scholarship in order to be able to pursue my BS in Human
Resource Management and also fulfill my goal of becoming an academic athletic advisor. This is
because I hail from an impoverished background. My father is a raging alcoholic and my mother
is a retired person who falls back on her pension to keep the family finances running. I do not
want to take financial assistance from her in order to be able to fund my college education. The
only way that I am at all going to be able to pursue a BS in Human Resource Management is if I
am awarded a scholarship in order to do the same.
I am currently employed as a part time grocery sales person in the neighborhood grocery
store. I work in the afternoon hours, from three pm to seven pm, helping out the store owner in
sales and marketing activities. With regards to profession though, I have held positions, minor
ones, in the US Navy. The seas have always fascinated me from childhood, which is why
working as a young naval officer is something that I am adept at. In the navy, I function as an
active duty career counselor, helping young people with prospects of joining the navy to
understand why a naval career could prove to be good for them.
With regard to leadership goals and personal development I would like to point out that I
am in charge of the goals and career decisions of many of the sailors who are currently working

in the American Navy and I would be happy to help out with career counseling for individuals
employed in other military branches if I am ever given the opportunity to do so someday or the
other.
I am currently an enlisted member of the US military since I am working in the navy. I
am married to a person who is an active duty member and if I get a scholarship to pursue a BS in
human resource management, then I will become the very first person in my family to be
attending college. I would therefore be grateful to be given the chance to attend college and this
is something that is going to be feasible only if I am awarded a stipendium or scholarship to
pursue my bachelor’s degree in human resource management.
