INTRODUCTION
Human Resource Management define as an essential technique adopted by the management
team of the organisation so they can select, recruit, manage & develop employees for the
accomplishment of organisational goals. In this report, Netflix is chosen as the base organisation
which is an American media service provider, headquarter is located in California. The company
was founded by Reed Hastings & Marc Randolph in the year 1997. This report includes
discussion about the concept of human resource, main purpose as well as function of human
resource management. Along with this, description of the concept of workforce planning are
included in this report. In addition to this, difference between recruitment and selection are also
going to be included.

appropriately. For this, management team of the company provide benefits, perks,

Functions of HRM:
It has been said that the functions of Human Resource Management is generally
distributed into two main kinds which comprises of managerial as well as operative functions.
Both of these functions are going to be discussed as follows: Managerial functions: It refers to the HRM function where management team of Netflix
organise, plan, direct, staff as well as control all the functions of the business operations
in an effective way. For this, HR manager of the company start their activities by
planning and organising all the activities in an appropriate manner. Once all the resources
are being arranged by the manager, it is required by them to staff their company with
capable and skilled staff members. Furthermore, management team of the company direct
and provide guidance to the staff members so they can perform all their functionality
according to the requirement.
Operative functions: In the present context of Netflix, operative function of HR manager
is to develop, encourage and procure their staff members so they can attain all their pre-
defined objectives within given time period. it is essential for the management team to
retain their capable staff members and ensure their growth and development by giving
them training & development sessions.
With the help of effective HRM function, managers of the company can easily attain their goals

for the right job role at right time as well as right place. This as a result assist them in order to
