INTRODUCTION
Human resource is refers to the individuals, labour, manpower who form ahead the
workforce of the organisation. Along with this, management is a art of getting work perform by
other with the increased efficiency. Human resource management is the management of people
in the organisation. HRM in the organisation involves planning, controlling, and binding the
people to the organisation so that the goal of the organisation as well as individuals can be full
filled. In this current report, the chosen association is AMAZON.
MAIN BODY
Organisational structure of Amazon and how it influences staff motivation
Amazon is termed to be the world largest internet company in according to the the
revenue. The company was established on 5th July 1994. The business mainly focuses on the e-
commerce, cloud computation,analogue streaming and artificial intelligence.
Organisational structure with possible advantages and disadvantages .
Amazon is one of the top light company which is due to its flat structure in comparison to
other companies size and scope. The company operates with top light structure due to many
factors such as documentation, writing culture and data oriented decision making and other.
Amazon have their employees organized over 12 hierarchy level . Each work is being distributed
on each and every hierarchy(Albrechtand and et . al., 2015).
Advantage –
The company works with the small teams so the decision regarding the factor are taken in
the faster manner.
The advantage to the company is that the company has focus more on the result than
focusing on the processes like other big companies.
Disadvantage -
The company suffers from the lack of expertise in their business due to their small team .
There is lack of efficiency and process as the number of employees within the
organisation do not know how to solve the problem and what exact is the cause of the
problems(Cascio, 2015).

Structure influence staff motivation:
The organisational structure of the amazon plays vital role in influencing the staff in the
organisation as the business of Amazon has a flat structure which provides employees with
certain rights and responsibilities and provide the with the authority to resolve their issues on
their own due to which the staff feel comfortable to share their view point with the top
management and feel familiar in the organisational environment.
Charles Handy model of organisational culture :
Charles handy model of the organisational culture consists of the four core elements which are
Power, Role , task and Person.
Role culture : This culture is related to the security regarding the job. This is the highly job
oriented as here the employees want security and stability about their job for the longer duration
of time. This culture is mainly known for there strict rules, norms and regulations(Hornstein,
2015).
Power culture : This culture is related to the less distribution of power in the hands of
employees but involves high level of contribution. This handy model of the organisational
culture is mainly followed by the new start-ups entrepreneurs with flat organisation structure.
Person culture : This culture is related to the allotment of power to the individuals and also
focuses on providing them the independence regarding their problems and also allows them to
work with their own expertise(Stone and et . al., 2015).
Task culture : Task culture is the one which is mainly oriented with the task . It involves
completion of the task or project within the specific period of time.
The company like Amazon should focus on the adoption of the role culture in their
organisation as it will enables their employees to work with their full devotion and efforts as the
full security regarding their job has been given and the chances of their termination is also less so
this culture will boost the performance level of their employees and the profit margin of Amazon
will also increased(Jackson, Schuler and Jiang, 2014).
Management style :
Management style is refers to a particular way which a manager use to complete the
organisational goals and task. Such as :
Autocratic style is the one in which the power is in hand of the senior manager only. It
does not involves the 2 ways communication. Whereas

Democratic is the one in which the power is being divided among the subordinates and
are involved in the process of decision making.
Amazon will adopt the management style of Democratic :
The company like Amazon should adopt the style of Democratic as this will enhance
their business profitability and productivity with the proper and complete involvement of their
staff. By the adoption of this management style the company like Amazon can build strong
relation with their staff and can retain them in the organisation for a longer duration of the time.
Employee well being as a primary HR function to your company.
Employee well being is the essential function as it ensure to the organisation that the
employees of their associations remains happy and motivated at the work place. Function of well
being is important as It will also support the business organisation to reduce labour turnover as if
the business will provide their employee a healthier and hygiene workplace then no employee
will think of leaving the organisation(Mao, H and et . al., 2014).
HR role in implementing employee well being :
As,HR being the key facilitator of the organisation. They are the only whole and soul of
the company who give emphasis on the implementation of the employee well being . As they
keep on the assessment, coordination and overseeing the programs. In the chosen association like
Amazon the company should implement various programmes for the well being of their
employees such as regular medical check-ups, installation of the equipments if they got
destroyed so that the employees can feel better and can work with the better working
environments(Paillé, P and et . al., 2014).
CONCLUSION
From the above mentioned report it can be determined that HRM plays a crucial and
significant role in the organisation. Every organisation consists of their own different
organisational structure whether it can be tall or flat . These organisational structures follows
various management styles in the organisation which influences the working of their employees
motivation and their working. Lastly , the report also give emphasis on the process of employee
well being in the organisation so that the employees can work towards the accomplishment of the
goal of the firm.
