Introduction
This essay will show the self-reflection over different aspects of Human Resources
Management. There will be the discussion about human resources management of Australia
and will also discuss the strategies of HRM. The legal context of human resource
management will also be discussed. Performance management and diversity balance will also
be discussed in the essay.
Reflective Journal One
In the first meeting, our entire team made focus on understanding some aspects of human
resources management in Australia. To make a proper start we have decided to gather
information from lectures and some relevant books and journals. Australia is one of the
developed country and a large number of multinational organizations. While our study we
have understood the basic concepts of human resource management. We have understood
that human resource management plays a vital role to establish the entire structure of an
organization (Jackson, et. al., 2014). After making the understanding about human resource
management we have analyzed that this department not only works as employees for the
organization part from that plays a vital role in council the employees.
Moreover, I have also learnt about the concept of strategic human resources management.
This concept helped me to understand different strategies used by the HRM department to
build the more impactful structure of the employees. The learning of strategic human
resource management helped me to understand some approaches which boost up the concepts
of hiring, discipline, payroll etc. in the context of organizational management. Afterwards, I
have learned about the legal context of human resource management. The laws of human
resource management refer to the state and federal laws which indicates the HRM and
employment issues.
According to me the major advantage for me was to work in the team as an entire team
helped me to enhance my learnings. As the team working helped me to adapt some different
and new skills and the innovative helped us to improve the way of acclimating the
information and learnings. Initially, working in the team was quite challenging for me as I
had issues with my communication skills which become one of the major challenges for me.
But when the time had passed I have observed that the issue of mine has been resolved and
strengthen my communication skills (Albrecht, et. al., 2016).

Besides that, to enhance my learnings I have learned about one of the model of HRM that is
The Standard Causal Model of HRM. This model helped me to understand the different
factors of human resource management. The model assists me with the different stages of
HRM which needs to be followed while implementing the strategies. The model stares that
strategies of human resource could be effective if these are interlinked with the objectives of
the business. for example, one of the major work of human resource is to recruit people for
the organization. if the selection will nor vary to the needs of organization it will make the
conflict in the performance of the entire workplace (Paillé, et. al., 2014). Thus, it can be
stated that this is most necessary to attain some effective and relevant strategies to grow the
business.
Reflective Journal Two
I personally and my entire team had decided to learn precisely about the concept of
performance management. To attain the same, we had decided to have a meeting in which we
discussed how we will proceed to gain the information. We also decided to learn about the
concept of diversity and work-life balance. We made our learnings started from the
performance management and learnt afterwards lead towards diversity and work-life balance.
I have observed that both of these aspects helped us to understand some different but
necessary aspects of the management system.
I have learnt that performance management plays essential to build the structure of an
organization. This is the approach which helps to build the effective formation of business in
a significant manner. The concept of performance management focuses on to enhance the
values and development of the entire structure and workplace of the organization as the
concept hive preferences to the values and abilities of an individual. On the other hand, I
analyzed managing diversity. This is one of the major factors needs to be discussed in the
context of organizational structure. According to my learnings, this is necessary to give
equality to the different employees of the organization (Sabharwal, 2014). As employees are
the base of the organization and need to be facilitated with equality and opportunities. This
will also help to balance the work-life structure in the organization.
I have observed that working in the team helped me to understand some new and different
things from my comfort level. Initially I made my analysis focused on the values which I had
observed but afterwards, I made interaction with other team members and learnt some
different things. At the beginning of my working, the major issue with me was related to my

decision-making skills as I was not able to catch the situation instantly and make some
effective resolution. With the help of different team members and their opinions, I learnt how
to get rid of these issues. One of my strength is effective leadership which helped to manage
the entire structure of the team.
To enhance my learnings over the performance management the theory of goal setting helped
me in a significant manner. This theory helped me to understand that is employees will work
to achieve their goals they can perform more realistic and impactful. The theory also stated
that if the employees attain values from their working they can continue else if they need to
modify their style of working (Marinova, et. al., 2016). This helped to understand about
different factors of performance management and also made me apprehend about the
importance of diversity in the organization.
Conclusion
The essay had concluded about the different aspects of human resource management and also
made learnings about different legislations related to human resource. The importance and
relevance of performance management also discussed in the essay and the analysis over
diversity also mentioned in the essay.
