discussion on areas of Human Resource Management along with the effects of changing
organisation's nature on HRM has been mentioned further. Furthermore, practices of HRM at
workplace to attract and retain employees is also presented. The entire information is presented in
context to General Motors, the worlds largest multinational Auto mobiles manufacturer with
multiple brands and auto-mobile products in nearly every country of the world. With net income of
9.945 billion dollars GM is the biggest player in automotive industry.

Human Resource Management of an organisation conducts multiple functions to bring productivity
and efficiency at workplaces. There are certain areas of HRM which contributes in creating
sustainable organisational performance for the organisation. Detailed information regarding key
areas of Human Resource Management is mentioned below -
Talent Management – This is the core activity and responsibility of Human resource
management team, the recruitment team of HR department in an organisation takes care of
hiring the right fit by posting the job profile, sourcing and screening the candidates as per
the requirement of the company. Also, talent management team is highly focused on creating
healthy relationship between Employees and management of the company.
Compensation and Benefits – HR personnels are responsible for evaluating the pay scale
of the competitors and establishing better pay structure plan in the organisation. HR
administrator compensate employees on the basis of performance, experience, skills and
knowledge of the employees accordingly. Also, they are also responsible for rewarding the
employees with monitory rewards as the result of their performances.
Training and Development – Due to change in working environment on daily basis,
companies require to enhance their Human capital of the organisation. Here, HR personnels
play significant role in conducting training and development sessions of the employees as
per the need of current working environment. Training and development managers frame
