HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT 2
Week 5 Discussions - Lakia Elam
It is imperative to note that based on the structure of the memo, you understand all the
basic of business writing. On the other hand, the internet plays a major role in almost human
activity, especially in the business world, where it ensures efficiency as well as increases the
chance of various organizations meeting their objective. Nonetheless, the internet has its
advantages and disadvantages. As much as many organizations have been seeking to
establish the use of the internet, there is a need of developing company policies, which could
aid in preventing those undesirable outcomes (Sharton & Newman, 2017). The organization
will benefit from such policies while the employees would also protect from them. However,
the company must implement the policies to prevent the workers from negatively using the
internet. Sometimes the internet might act as a distraction to the worker when they use it for
the wrong things such as chatting on social media.
It is not bad to monitor employees on the internet. However, this has to be done based
on some specific regulations of the rules and regulations set by the organization.
Furthermore, the privacy of the worker must be protected. The monitoring system is based
on how the employees use the internet. For effectiveness, the email could be regulated to
prevent employees from sending casual emails to friends instead of working. Also, most of
the institutions are allowed to monitor their employees (George, 2017). I do believe that
stressing on the signing of the consent form could protect the organization from any possible
lawsuit in the future.
