INTRODUCTION
Human Resource Management is a term used to maintain and organize manpower in an
organization. This project is based on Oak Cash and Carry Ltd. which is a small but rapidly
growing company. This company provides cash and carry services, foods and beverages in bulk
to retailers, caterers, offices and other local businesses in UK. This project tells about HRM in
detail, major concepts that are recently developed, roles and activities for that HRM department
is responsible. Later on, following report focuses on reasons behind performing various roles and
activities that HRM conducts.
1. HRM Description
Human Resource: In terms of an organization, human resource is a person who is
responsible to use capabilities of employees towards achievement of objectives of organization.
Thus, human resource management is a term which defines to ensure effective and efficient use
of human resource so that organizational goals and objectives are achieved (Alfes and et. al.,
2013).
Human Resource Management is planning, organizing, directing and controlling of
human resources so that individual and organizational goals are to be achieved.
Objectives of HRM: First and foremost objective of HRM is to make sure that right
people should be placed at right place which is done with help of staffing, so that organizational
goals and targets should be achieved in given time. These can be explained with the help of
following points:
ï‚· Main objective of HRM is to motivate and boost up morale of human resources so that
goals can be achieved effectively and efficiently, because motivated employees will work
with greater efforts.
ï‚· Every human resource has their own capabilities ans skills and they should be used to the
fullest. This should be considered by HRM minutely (Armstrong and Taylor, 2014).
ï‚· If employees will feel that if organizational goals help them to achieve their individual
goals, then they will work with greater interest because they are gaining job satisfaction
and self-actualization, as well.
