Introduction
The report aid in providing a briefintroduction on HRM (Human Resource Management) which
helps the applicant to fully utilize the basic principles of human resource management.An
efficient employee increase company and own efficiency which aid in increasing productivity
and also aid in standing the competitive market. For achieve this objective, it is necessary for the
organization that it HR department select a right candidate for a right job and provide regular
training through which he or she increase knowledge in the field in whichrecruitment is made.
This report includes methods of recruitment, job profile for the job vacancy, contains various
questions which are asked at the time of interview, benefits such as monetary and non
monetarygiven by organization to employee for the purpose of retain employees within the
organization. Through this also understand how legislationrules of employment in the UK
influence.

Introduction
HR department have a crucial role within the organization in the part of selecting an appropriate
candidate and thereafter provide training. Employees’ efficiency is basically based on the human
resource department of the concern organization. For understanding the function of Hr
department in the organization, a new company is selected for the purpose of better
understanding of this department (Patel, et. al., 2017). The company selected is Squire’s Garden
Centres. In this part of the report function and role of human resource management, and it related
importance is to be discussed along with including the merits and demerits of the company
current process of recruitmentand selection method by comparing it with the other company
recruitment process.

Purpose of HR function within the organization:
The function which is performs by the company HR department in an important function because
it performs its function both in internal and external environment of organization. Through this,
it aid organization to develop a good strategy and also select tight person for right job role. As
the HR department has performed several functions which are based on the company nature of
business and it size of organization (Noe, et. Al., 2017). But in the Squire’s Garden Centres
organization, the functions of Hr department are as below:
Planning: The function provide benefit to the internally. This will aid organization to select a
appropriate candidate for the right job for right place in order to achieve business set objectives

objective because of it fulfills the needs and requirement. It support to the hr department through
the collecting and ideas of information which fulfill the needs of Hr department. The primary
planning plans is to develop a good staffing of employees.
Staffing: This function is force on planning factors such as recruit right person and for selection
purpose. Through this function, it aid management to select a right person for the benefit of
organization by the appropriate process of recruiting right candidates. Recruitment is the main
and important function in the organization of which force to influence a right candidate for their
desirable job in order to fulfill job position of the company.
The above are related to the purpose of HR function in the organization of Squire’s Garden
Centres. The purpose of this company’s HR department is to increase company efficiency
through the applying of different methods. Selection and performance of the employees are the
company adopted methods functions which are perform by the HR department. For the
selection, good skills and appropriate knowledge with the related field of job is required because
the role of employee is complex by nature. The Squire’s Garden Centres is a company located in
the South East part of England which is busy in deliver the horticulture related material to the
customers. This company is a combination of different departments which all together work in
the same direction in order to grow business and development.
Importance of HR in an organization:
In the organization, efficient and appropriate HR department is compulsory if it is lacking then
the achieving of business objectives and managing the company work is difficult to handle
because this is primary on which employees and employer relation is exist. Uses of the resources
and stop to misuses of organization resources in an optimum manner is depend on this
department. Squire’s Garden Centres, it is a company which is able to achieve desired goals as
per the targets and also obtained output effectively through the proper management system. The
importance of HR department is based on the company nature of business and also its size is

become the essential element on which the recruitment of person is depends (Joy, et. Al., 2015).
As the company is medium size and it nature of business is to provide horticulture material to the
clients so the importance of HR is important to the reference with the company. The importance
of this department is generated through the following parts such as:
HR department should select an appropriate candidate who have knowledge in this field
because this company cannot spent capital on recruiting person regular as the size of firm
is not large so it have no such capital in business which is spent on this.
Size of this company is medium it means the importance of HR department is also
increase because recruiting a right candidate for the company job profile is based on this
department as this is liable to selectappropriate candidate (Agwu, and Onwuegbuzie,
2017).

The company current recruitment process have various benefits along with drawbacks because a
same coin has two part and one part having advantages and other is consists disadvantages which
is same in this situation in the reference with the selected company. The advantages and
disadvantages of the company present time of recruiting and selection process are as below:
Advantages:
Reliability and the objectives factors of the test which is conducted by the organization aid in
increasing efficiency andaid in selection methods which can be said more effective due to
remove fraud and any chance of error. On this, the company selection method is very high ( Rife,
et. al., 2016).
Selection is the process through which the company HR department analyzing and assess the
employees skills whether he or she is a right person for the job which is offer and able to

determine that person is ready to serve their service into the organization towards achieving
organization goals.
Through the process of selection from step to step is more effective in the organization of this
because of it aid in selecting effective and remove extra efforts which might expensive in terms
of time consuming or even money.
Disadvantages:
Through the selection process which is adopted by the organization is not satisfied by and not
develops and cannot determine each candidate personality.
It creates a possibility of chances that employee may not be fair and honest as this selection
process not contains large steps through which efficiency cannot be determined (Lewis, et. al.,
2016).
It also is a chance that may be person who is not suitable for the job is selected due to less steps
of selection methods included.

The role of customer service assistant is to provide the support to the customer through the
various ways such as solve customers’ issues either in telephonic or face to face. The job
description duties, purpose of recruiting, responsibilities which need to be fulfilled, working
conditions and hours, scope along with job title such as customer service assistant. The job
opening is for every Centre for the role of customer service assistant.
Purpose of the job:
The aim of this job is to provide a good service to customer and establish a good relation with
the organization so that clients are influence towards the company products and purchase
material from this organization which aid company and customer to gain benefits. A goods
relation between the organization and customer are set up by solving client’s issues and provide
assistance to the customer for their queries which can be solved on time (Danilecki, et. al., 2017).
