Introduction
In this report, the discussion will be made on the topic employees training and development. The
company selected for the task is Nestle. It can be stated that Nestle is one of the largest food and
Beverage Company and the activities of the company are conducted on the global platform. One
of the human resource functions of Nestle is “Employee training and development”.
Nestle training and development
The training programs of the company are designed to boost the performance of the employees
and also to attain the goals. Nestle training programs are based on the corporate business
principles and on the code of business conduct. These training sessions are conducted in the
different sessions such as summer trainee, management trainee and also technical training
orientation is offered to the employees (Galalae and George, 2017).
It is observed that the training given on COBC also consist a session of anti-corruption. The
COBC and NCBP are the training sessions that are organized for the external and third party
workers (Ramesh, 2018). Nutrition Quotient training also assists the employees to have proper
understanding of the nutrition, food and groups. In 2015, the training was imparted to more than
2,100 employees and they ensured that the employees focus more on maintaining the nutrition
ratio of the customers (Akhtar, Xicang and Iqbal, 2017).
The main emphasis is on attaining the business needs but the main issue is that the company only
focuses on the Nestle corporate business principles and also code of conduct at the time of
training. It is one of the drawbacks that are related to the overall training program of the
company and it is important to minimize this issue to boost the effectiveness of the training
session offered to the employees in the workplace (Nestle, 2019).
Recommendations and strategies
Higher authority should consider qualification and experience
It is important for the top management to emphasize on considering the qualification and
experience of the employees before giving training. It would be difficult for the new

employees to consider acquire the knowledge in less time as compared to the experienced
employees. So, it is important for the management to focus on giving training according to
the qualification and experience of the employees.
Meetings
At the time of offering training, the meetings should be conducted by the managers in
which the employees should be set free to share their views and opinions. If the
employees are able to share their views and opinions with the management then it would
be easy to accomplish the set goals and it also helps in creating positive mindset of the
employees towards the work. Motivation
Nestle company should focus on considering the Maslow hierarchy of needs theory so
that the basic needs of the employees can be fulfilled. It is one of the best ways that can
help in enhancing the motivation level of the employees towards the assigned work. It
can be stated that motivation can help the employees to create interest towards the work
of the company.
Conclusion
It is concluded that training and development is one of the important function of the
management. The management should focus on different aspects so that improvisation can be
made at the time of training. The different aspects are Higher authority should consider
qualification and experience, motivation and meetings should be conducted by the management.
