As per the scenario, the need is to carry on an annual review for an employee named Jim.
Earlier, Jim used to be the model employee and stand as an inspiration for the other employees.
Recently Jim has been coming in late. The change in Jim’s behavior is causing trouble in the
production line and not at all acceptable at the part of the company’s management.
Recent Performance Issues
Jim’s recent performance issues are to be analyzed along with praising him for his
previous nine months of good work. First of all, it is important to make out the problem that goes
with Jim and the reason behind issues faced at his performance levels. Actually, Jim is unable to
maintain a gap amid professional and personal life. It comes up as an important factor that is
going to make a person, facing trouble, in carrying on the job role with utmost effectiveness. In
view of this, it is important to advise Jim to have the propensity to form a balance and to remain
motivated to carry on the responsibility with sincerity. It is necessary enough to make out the
issues and supporting him to get out of it in order to maintain his meticulousness and diligence.
Secondly, it is important to organize a counseling session for Jim to connect with him in
the most proper manner. It would give him the chance to talk about the issues confronted by him
and to receive aid from the part of the management to get out of it. Eventually, this is going to
make Jim feel associated and linked with the job (Amos, Ristow, Pearse & Ristow, 2009).
Constructive and Positive Feedback
It is imperative to provide with constructive and positive feedback designed so that Jim
will leave motivated to do his best. The company needs to adopt ethical ways together with
having better performance appraisal techniques and considering more of successful career
management programs for the employee’s betterment. It is a must to have a better approach
