INTRODUCTION
Human resource management is one of the main practices or approach which conducted
by an organization in order to conduct effectively management of people at their workplace.
Through HR practices an employee able to maximize their performance in effective manner
which help them as well as company to attain their desire goal or objective successfully (Amede
and et. al., 2017). Organization selected for this report is John Lewis Partnership which is a retail
store introduced by John Lewis in 1864. Its head office is located in London, United State and
they are operating at the international level. The main aim of conducting this report is to
understand about employment legislations which are essential to be considered by company.
Topics include in report are different aspects of employees relation and employment legislation
as well as it will also include some human resource practices.

a) Role of workplace representation in organisation and analyze the relevance of employee
relations to human resource management.
In order to conduct business activities, operations and functions in effective manner every
company need to adopt workplace representation practices because that will provide proper
guidelines. In respect of John Lewis, it is also essential for them to conduct different employee’s
relationship activities so that they can conduct their work effectively as well as it will also help
in motivating employees (Brewster and et. al., 2016). In respect of this they can conduct
activities like involve employees in decision making, appraise them according to work, provide
growth and equal opportunities and many more. In addition to this, John Lewis develop as well
as maintain positive working culture so that employees feel motivate and encourage to conduct
