Introduction
Human resource management is regarded as one of the most important functions of the
organization that plays a key role in employee management as well as maintenance of
a positive culture and environment in the office (Chile, Fraccaroli and Sverke, 2017).
The importance of HR is usually overlooked by the firms which makes it less successful.
Hence if this activity is carried out effectively then an immense contribution can be
made towards overall direction of the company followed by attainment of goals and

report has thus been prepared as a newly appointed HR trainee of Titan travel UK in
order to understand the process of HRM and current state of employee relations as well
as employment law within service sector of UK. Focus has also been given on
recruitment and selection process that is practiced within the organization followed by
its training and development.
Titan travel UK
Titan travel in UK is one of the leading escorted tour operators that offer services to
Europe and all around the world that is present over 70 nations. The company offers
more than 300 itineraries to the consumers through train, air, ocean or river cruise. The
company further gives a huge emphasis on quality and pays attention to individual
needs and preferences. It further ensures that the employees accompanying the tourists
are knowledgeable about the destinations so that the clients get a chance to visit the
hidden gems and also pass through scenic routes. Its major services are in form of VIP
home departure service, professional and friendly tour managers, high quality hotels
and modern coaches (Titan travel, UK). The company further makes sure that
excursions, entrance fee, food and entertainment facility is included in the tour price
only. Titan travel recently received 10 gold and 5 silver awards at British travel award
which is the largest consumer choice poll for leisure travel. This has made Titan as the
most successful tour operator in the year 2017 (Awards, 2017). This is all possible as
the management has made sure that fantastic holidays are provided to the people
through its well trained employees in order to make them happy. It further trains the
employees in such a manner that they come out as real travel experts for the travel
thereby making the experience a memorable one.

1.1 Explain the importance of human resource management, its role and purpose in

Human resource management is very important for Titan travel UK as it lays
emphasis on the greatest resource of the firm being its employees. It helps in overall
selection, recruitment as well as development of employees without whom even the
best plans and ideas will fail. HRM helps to ensure that there is an effective usage of
employees so that better returns can be provided to the organization in terms of ROI
(Mitchell, 2017). If HRM is not developed in a proper manner then Titan travel is most
likely to lose in the area of utilizing the human resources thereby not attaining success.

the company. It is essential that the HR employees maintain non ambiguity in the

as the digital designers through the training sessions can be made aware about
the overall marketing objective of the company (Brewster and et.al., 2016). As
experienced digital designers will be selected hence the need is to train hem with

 Appraisal of Manpower Planning – Last but not the least step is to assess the
