Part B: Training Plan and Training Delivery
The training program is focusing on the management at the Culture Kings Store. From
the needs analysis so far conducted, it has been established that the organization has a poor
employee management culture. There is a high rate of employee turn-over in this organization
because of the dissatisfaction of the workers. In this regard, a well-planned and properly-
executed training program must be launched. In order to succeed in training these workers, the
training program should be of a high standard. Meaning, appropriate strategies, approaches and
methodologies will have to be applied. One of these strategies is the application of the relevant
theories of adult learning.
First, there is a need to employ the use of the experiental learning theory. According to
this model, the adults can learn through experience. As clearly outlined by David Kolb,
experience can be a useful strategy in the teaching of the adults. It gives them an opportunity to
learn and reflect. The instructor should give the managers a chance to learn, reflect, reason out,
and come up with decisions on how to manage the workers in the company (Olson, 2015). This
can bring the desired behavior change in the company’s managers. Secondly, the training will
involve the use of the Andragogy theory. This theory emphasizes that adult education should be
problem-centered. It should not focus on the theoretical content, but need to impart practical
knowledge that the learners can use to solve day-to-day challenges (Ozuah, 2016). This theory
can be instrumental in providing a proper training to the managers. From the analysis, it was
established that many managers lack the requisite skills that they ought to possess. That is why
the employees are disgruntled. So, if trained well, the managers can know how to apply the
managerial strategies to manage the culture, motivate, ad retain workers within the organization.

Survey
Culture Kings Store is an established company that has been dealing in music, fashion,
and sports businesses. Since its establishment, the company has expanded to be what it is today.
Currently, it has subsidiaries in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, South Port, Pacific fair,
Parramatta, and Chadstone. However, just like any other organization, Culture Kings Store has
got its own share of inefficiencies, challenges, and weaknesses. In this paper, focus is laid on the
poor organizational culture at the company’s Melbourne branch.
From the needs analysis, it was found out that there is a large section of the company’s
workers who are not content with the management. The findings were collected after conducting
a survey on the company’s employees. Since it was not possible to interview the current
employees, we relied on the online review from the past and current workers. The reviews were
retrieved from Glasdoor. Glassdoor has a website called https://www.glassdoor.com in which the
users give reviews on the first-hand experiences they had while working for an organization. In
https://www.glassdoor.com.au/Reviews/Culture-Kings-Reviews-E813669_P2.htm there is a total
of 19 reviews each of which centers on Culture Kings Store. The reviewers gave the company a
3.4-star rating out of the possible five. Out of the 19 reviews, everyone has had a negative
experience while working for the company. Although 67% of the reviewers recommend the
company, there is no doubt that it is not the best place to work.
The reviews indicate that the company has an ineffective management that does not
support the workers. There are some reviews that disapproved the company’s organizational
culture. According to the employees, the management micro-manages the workers. There is a
culture of intimidation, poor communication, poor conflict resolution, lack of autonomy, and

appreciation (Glassdoor, 2019). The managers have a culture of mistreating the staff. Although
the company offers somewhat attractive remuneration packages, there are no chances of career
growth in this company. The management has developed a culture of favoritism. Meaning, only
extremely loyal employees and close cronies are promoted. In case there is any decision to be
made, the employees are not involved (Glassdoor, 2019). There are also cases of exploitation
because employees are forced to work for long hours. The workers are compelled to achieve
unrealistic and overambitious targets that are obviously beyond their reach (Noe, Hollenbeck,
Gerhart & Wright, 2017). The reviews indicate that this is unfavorable culture that has
contributed to the high rates of employee turn-over in the company. All these indicate that the
management is in a dire need of urgent training.
