INTRODUCTION
Human resource is one of important function of an organisation which is dealing with human
resource of company (Fenech, Baguant and Ivanov, 2019). They are providing support to
employees working in an organisation and motivate them towards attainment of goals and
objectives of company. This project report includes human resources and its roles in an
organisation. It also includes explanation of roles of human resources in context of company.
MAIN BODY
Human resource:
Human resource can be described as set of people who is making workforce of business sector,
organisation, economy. It is a concept that is related with human capital, skills and knowledge in
which individual command. It is one of department which is contributing to growth of
organisation (Macke and Genari, 2019). HR department is group who needs to manage employee
life cycle in an organisation along with administration of benefits of employee. They need to
undertake different functions like hiring, training, onboarding and firing of employees. In an
organisation, employees are of different country as company is hiring employees from different
country. In order to maintain work and ensure smooth flow of operation, it is essential for a
company to maintain culture of company. Employees of different country came from different
culture, their ways of work and beliefs are also different. Employees while working in another
country feel along a it takes time to adjust in new environment. It is responsibility of Human
resource management to manage culture of company.
Role of HR:
Human resource play important role in an organisation as there are different types of
responsibilities that is undertaken by them for purpose of completion of work. Human resource
department is existed in an organisation for purpose of providing support to employees. Some of
rue undertaken by human resource is mentioned below:
Recruiting and hiring employees: Recruitment process is one of important unction of human
resource professional. It is a complex process as it includes different steps and HR need to
analyse capability of individual as per requirement of company (Marrucci, Daddi and Iraldo,
2021). For this, they need to write for a job available in an organisation for purpose of inviting
application. They need to review resume of candidates and also needs to conduct pre-screen.

They need to administer different types of skill test and also needs to conduct interview. HR
needs to analyse candidate and needs to make hiring decision. They also ensure onboarding
process and allow individual to provide them training of supervisor o employees and training to
manager.
Managing training and development: HR manager needs to recognise talent as well as
potential of employee through providing them proper training that assist them for developing
their skills. It is beneficial for companies in order to define exact needs and training to
employees that increase engagement of employees and allow them to motivate employees.
Keep tracking of employee performance: HR manager tracking performance of employees by
providing them feedback and guidance. For this, it is essential to develop clear as well as
transparent goals and objectives which is important for purpose of completion of work. It is
essential for human resource manager to manage ongoing performance.
Managing and improving communication: Communication is one of important element in
human resource management. Human resource needs to communicate different employees in
order to solve problems faced by them (Rana and Sharma, 2019). It helps them to build good
employee employer relationship. It assist business for purpose of communicating goal and
requirement to employees and helps them to understand condition of business.
Manage organisation and company culture: Another role of human resource manager is to
manage culture of organisation and company. It is one of important factor that is required for
purpose of successful functioning of organisation. Culture can be designed as values, foals and
attitude of company that is share among employees and managers. It provides sense of
belongingness as well as fulfilment that assist different members of company that allow them to
work towards goals of company. HR managers of company are responsible for purpose of
development of culture strategy of company which is important for purpose of maintaining
balance in organisation.
One of important role of HR is recruitment and selection of employees. Pret a Manager is one of
international organisation which a sandwich shop and is having franchise chain in UK. It was
introduced in the year 1983 in UK. This organisation needs to hire employees from different
country in order to conduct operation in effective manner. Recruitment can be described as
process that allow to identify and attracting of different resources for purpose of filling available
position in company. It is one of source that allow candidate who has different ability as well as

attitude which are attaining objectives of company. In Pret a Manager, human resource manager
is identifying job vacancy analysing requirement of job, reviewing application shortlisting right
candidate for company (Zaid, Jaaron and Bon, 2018). For this, they are following different steps
that allow them to identify right candidate. In this, managers of company first need to conduct
recruitment planning where a person can analyse and describe vacant position. It consists job
specification, nature, experience qualification of jobs can be pre decided by HR managers of . In
next steps, managers of Pret a Manager neds to develop strategy for purpose of identify suitable
candidate. They also need to take make or buy decision like type of recruitment, recruitment
source and other things. In next step, they need to shot listing employees which are suitable to
their requirement. In the end. They need to evaluate and control process of recruitment that allow
them to ensure effectiveness and validity of process.
CONCLUSION
From above mentioned project report, it can be concluded that human resource is one of
important component which is playing important role in business. It is one of department which
is developed in order to provide support to business. There are different types of roles and
responsibility to be conducted by this department. They need to hire and select employees,
communicate with them in order provide solve their problems, providing training and
development in order to improve their efficiency.
