Introduction
The knowledge and skills required by the human resource professional comprise of
human resource knowledge. The job seekers in the current scenario have more accessibility to
information as compared to the past times. So, the HR professionals must be prepared for
meeting the candidates who are aware of about the industry (Budhwar & Debrah, 2013).
So, this assignment presents an executive summary of the findings which are identified in
the Capstone assignments developed through the course.
Knowledge and skills possessed by the human resource professional and how they
should be acquired
The human resource professional should possess appropriate human resource knowledge
so that they can be prepared for meeting the candidates who have an expertise in their industry.
They should have good judgmental skills and impartial mind for dealing with people.
The human resource professional should possess good communication skills so that they
can conveniently convey the information to the staff. Lastly, the most important core
competency for human resources is to possess a sound educational base for performing their
duties in an appropriate manner.
The appropriate skills can be developed by HR professionals by acquiring the decisive
thinking skills so that they are able to analyze the information fast and can utilize them for
decision making. They should develop the skills of acquiring commitment from various quarters
in order to benefit the organization.

Recommended strategies for transitioning the current human resources department
at Ellard Williams
The strategies adopted for transitioning the present human resource department at Ellard
Williams would be working with agencies for meeting the present demands of recruitment.
Furthermore, a lower compensation model shall be followed for meeting the monetary
obligations of the organization.
The HR professional should be focused towards the future instead of concentrating on the
events occurred in the past. They should be focused on implementing discipline in order to adopt
the perception of the company. They should initiate with meeting the strategic needs of the
organization and utilize more creativity, innovative approach and problem-solving capabilities
for finding solutions to the problems (Bratton & Gold, 2017).
They should act as service providers by serving internal consumers so that they can
partner with other leaders. They should act as business persons with HR/OD perceptions from
being an HR/OD person. They should develop the core competencies for mastering into a
particular business they are working for.

Hence to conclude, the responsibilities of the human resource professionals are to
advance flexibility, competitive advantage and innovation in the organization. They assist in
