MAIN BODY
Racism is the belief in the superiority of one race over another, it result in discrimination
as well as prejudice towards people based on their race or ethnicity (DAILY, KIEFF and
WILMARTH JR, 2014). Mainly discrimination is done on the basis of colour, caste, sex,
nationality, ethnic origin and so on. There are some services required by the individual who is
suffering by Racism. These are: educate individual about their rights and if any discrimination is
done to them in that situation particular person can complaint or sue against it. Most important is
that equality should be given to everyone in every area such as education, employment and so
on. As well as on the basis several factors related to race people should not be divided. Along
with this, laws given by the government related to racism and discrimination should be
implemented in offices, hospital, school and other places also in strict manner (Viruell-Fuentes,
Miranda and Abdulrahim, 2012). Because these are the place where is much chances race
practices this is the reason that all these legislations must be implemented in the respective areas.
There are some act also given by the government of United Kingdom, implementation of
these legislations in daily life result in reducing activities related to race (Costello And et.al.,
2012). Several laws are covering race, sex, sexual orientation, disability, religion or belief etc..
But there is an single legislation i.e., The Equality Act 2010 which cover all these in one. It is
given by the parliament of United Kingdom and its main aim is to provide equal opportunity to
every person. Respective Act says that if an individual is treated by someone unfairly because of
reason. Then the reasons are named as protected characteristics (Equality Act 2010: guidance,
2015). Race is one of the protected characteristics under the Equality Act. Race discrimination is
when unfair practices are done by the person due to some of these things i.e., colour, nationality,
ethnic and national origin. But in this transsexual person related laws are not included (Ware,
2015). It is necessary to involve this element is the equality act because they are also human
being and have right to be treated equally like all other peoples.
RECOMMENDATION
