employees of the company. It is important for the company to retain their talented employees as
they are the one that will help the company in completing their tasks effectively and efficiently.
In order to retain the employees for a longer duration of time, it is important for the company to
motivate the employees and boost the morale of employees as it will help the organisation in
enhancing the productivity and performance of the employees (Dawson and Carson., 2020.).
Employee retention will make sure that the company is having a low employee turnover rate and
are saving the cost of recruitment and training of new employees. It will also help the company
in having a workforce which is expertise in their sectors and are working according to the
requirements of the company. It will create a loyal workforce for the company which is essential
for the company in order to achieve success.

an employee is not satisfied with the workings of the company, they will sooner or later will
resign from the job. Working environment also plays a major role in the satisfaction of

effect on the productivity of employee whereas if the environment of a company is positive then
it will help the employee in increasing their productivity (Travaglia and Miller., 2018.). Positive
working environment will not only have good impact on the efficiency of the employee but will
also have a good impact on the mental health of employee. If a company have high employee
turnover rate then it is not good for the company as recruitment of an employee includes high
cost for the company such as recruitment cost, selection cost, training cost and if the employee
leaves the job, the cost invested by the company in the employee will go in waste. It is important
for the company to make sure that they are able to retain the employee for a longer duration of
time. Low retention rate will have a negative impact on the reputation of the company as the
talented employees will not be willing to work in a place where there is no job satisfaction
(Wirahadikusumah and et. al., 2019.). Human resource is one of the most important resource of
the company and it is important for the company to make sure that they are working in order to
retain the talented employees of the company. Human resource is a crucial investment of the

company is unable to recruit right employee for the right job then it will have a negative impact
on the workings of the company. Retention of employees will make sure that the company is
working in the right direction and the employees of the company are satisfied with the
management of the company (Perkins and Jones., 2020.). It will help the company in enhancing
their reputation and will make sure that the company has a pool of talent which can help the
company at the time of urgent recruitment.
In order to improve the retention of employee following steps must be taken into consideration
by the company.
Hire right people: The first stage of retention is hiring right employees in the
management of the company. It is important for the company to make sure that they are having
correct set of employees for the workings of the company. If the company is unable to hire right
talent in the organisation then their will be low employee retention in the company which is a
complete loss for the company. It is observed that disengaged employee are likely to leave the
organisation within 90 days as compared to engaged employee (Marinakis, Nikolopoulou and
Doukas., 2018, March.). It is important for the company to engage their employees in the
training or workings of the company so that they feel valued and will also be able to become
more productive for the organisation.
Optimize the on boarding experience: It is important for the company to make sure that
the on boarding experience of the employee is good in order to retain the employee for a longer
period of time. On boarding does not only include providing offer letter to the employee, giving
office tour or setting up a desk for the employee but in order to retain the employee the on
boarding experience of a employee can last for one year. It is important for the company to
create a good first impression on the employee and communicate clearly with the employee
about expectations of the company and the workings of the company. Providing structured
opportunities will help the company in enhancing the potential of the employee and will also
help the employee in developing job satisfaction as they are continuously learning something
new in the organisation.
Create a culture of recognition and feedback: It is important for the company to create
a learning culture of the organisation (O'brien., 2019.). It will help the company in developing
new skills in their employees and will also make sure that the employees are not engaged in

company in improving the performance of employees and will also enhance the motivation of the
employees. It is important for the company to make sure that correct feedbacks are provided to
the employees as the process of feedback can turn into a disaster if personal difference get
involved in the process. Feedbacks will help the company in creating a learning environment in
the organisation where people are willing to learn new things and are wiling to improve and
enhance their productivity as well as their performance.
