Passion playing soccer
In a very small village, there was a poor child who loves soccer and it didn't help him to watch a
championship match. Hussain didn't have TV and he always goes to his uncle's home to watch a football
match. He looks a thin boy and his fast which has helped him a lot. He looked to other boys they have a
ball and them happy and playing soccer. He asked them to let him play with them but they said, "go to
your parents to pay a ball for you, we won't allow you to play with us". Hussain felt shy and
disappointment he went to his parents and cried. His mother asked him what's wrong with you?
He started telling his mother about what the boys said to him. His mother felt very sad and she couldn’t
buy a soccer ball for her son. He created one by using his T-shirt, socks and tied it from above until it
became close to a soccer ball. He was happy and playing in the village. He tried to imitate Cristiano
Ronaldo who’s his favorite player. At age of six, he started to study in a primary school. He was really
wanted to play soccer with boys in his class. After that, his teacher said, ‘Hussain you have some good
skills how did you learn it’. Hussain felt enthusiastic and desirous to keep practice and improve his
proficiencies by practice every day. One of the things that he did is running to the top of the mountain so
he gets the power running and be fast. Then, his mother bought a soccer ball when he got a high mark in
primary school. He was very happy and thankful for his mom so he played football with boys from his
neighborhood after school. He was the best player in the league in his primary school when he was at age
of 11. He graduated from that school and went to secondary school. There was a hard challenge to
Hussain because he played with students older than him and their physical structure is bigger than him.
Hussain kept challenged himself to be more strong and active. In his first match at secondary school,
everyone’s is surprised how this little boy can scoring goals fantastically. Students and teachers were
clapping and encouraging Hussain in his first match. He won the best player in the championship-level
city schools.

Then, He became popular in the school and everybody knows he is a good player. His parents bought a
TV for the first time because they wanted their son to watch matches at home and them proud of what
Hussain did and he got two gold modules and best player two times.
As the days progressed, Hussain became a famous football state player. During such events, in a large
gathering, Hussain was looking forward towards the national selections. Hussain practiced hard and
worked towards it religiously to achieve his goals. He was so devoted to getting selected in the national
team that he worked towards his aim, day and night. Silently praying deep heart days went by. Finally,
before the event day, Hussain asked her mother, “Mother, what if I lose this chance and fail to get a seat”.
Her mother replied warmly and said, “Hussain, even if you lose, you are still content you gave your best
and 100% towards your desire. Do not forget God is watching us and he gives fairer chance to each of
us”. Hussain took it as his motivation spirit and in the morning took blessings of the mother. He walked
confidently towards the playing ground and stood there with high spirits. In the event, there was the
national coach and the renowned footballer ‘Paul Pogba' who were selected for the national team.
Hussain, deep inside felt, this is the only chance to outshine. Soon, the event begins and there were two
teams. Hussain was appointed as a captain. He chose the position of the goalkeeper. Deep inside he
thought, more than winning its all about playing. Soon, he forgot he was playing for the national team
selection. He played with his heart and soul in the game. The rival team was scoring in the first part of
the game and Hussain, can sense the disappointment in his team players. During the break, the scores
were 3-1 and the Hussain team was lagging behind. Paul Pogba walked towards the Hussain teams and
said, "I know you guys have worked hard, but keep the focus on the ball and not on the winning or
losing. Think from the heart and play with your mind. Keep the focus on a game." Hussain silently
ushered and prayed for success. The game started after a brief 30minutes of the break. When he walked
into the stadium, he looked at the audience and saw, his mother sitting there. This was the first time, he
saw his mother seeing a match. He walked towards her and hugged her tightly. His mother whispered,
remember the time you first time cried for the soccer shirt and the ball? Hussain, replied her back, "yes
mother". Her mother said you prayed to play not to win or lose in the game. Just focus on your play and

leave it on the God. He looked up and smiled back. With great enthusiasm, he came back. This time not
to win or lose, but, to play his passionate football game.
The second part of the match begins, the audience applauded. Hussain and his team were full of action
and the rival team greeted back with a winning streak. With heart pounding and gasping for breath, both
the team wished each other for success. Suddenly, the siren signaled to begin the match. Both the team
hoped into the actions (Kramer, 2016). Hussain team tried there best to score a goal and stopped the rival
team in scoring goals. Hussain team failed and the rival team came close to their goal. All the eyes on the
Hussain the goalkeeper, and the rival team player kicked in the air, with the aim to score a goal. Hussain
prayed and jumped towards the ball. With a sound of the strong thud and free fall, he managed to save a
scored goal. His team applauded and suddenly, his passionate action of winning translated into the
Hussain’s team attitude. All the team started playing with great enthusiasm and forgot about winning and
losing the game. The next one hour, Hussain team was able to score two more goals. The last thirty
minutes remaining in the game, the rival team tried their best to score against the Hussain team, but every
time they were stopped by the Hussain team players and the Hussain himself. Hussain shouted towards
his team, last thirty minutes of the game, earn it before you lose it. The team hummed and swam into
action. Hussain team clashed with the rival team and moved towards the ball aggressively. Hussain team
scored another goal and the new score was 3-4. With the last 10 minutes remaining in the match,
everyone prayed for success. Suddenly the rival team was chasing and making a move towards the
Hussain. Hussain flipped into an action. The rival players tried their tricks to distract the other team
players to score a goal. Within seconds, the rival team players and the Hussain were standing opposite to
each other. Both of them locked their eyes and stood alert, safeguarding their position. The rival player
stooped low and douched the ball. Hussain understood from his experience rival players intention and
signaled his team to protect the area. In no time, the scored goal was saved and Hussain team won the
match. The audience applauded the winning spirit of the Hussain teams players. They not only won the
match but also the hearts of the people. Hussain team was rewarded with the awards and accolades.
Hussain again went back to his mother and thanked her. He whispered in her ears, you are my strength

and your blessings made me win this match. I will never forget the unconditional love you gave my
mother. His mother replied back, that’s why God created mothers, as he is not available at every place.
Both looked up and smiled at each other.
Soon enough, the national team coach selector and the renowned player ‘Paul Pogba’ announced the
names of the winning team and the selected team players. Hussain was surprised to hear his name from
the Paul Pogba, who said while both the teams played extremely well, only this player played with his
heart to win the hearts and not the game. We are excited to have him on our team. I will personally train
him. All these years, Hussain only wished to play his favorite soccer game, he never knew his passionate
playing has earned him a career.
With heavy heart and pain in his body, he looked above and thanked his stars. People often play the game
with the focus, of losing or winning, they forget that even the art of playing is a part of the passion. The
game is never about winning the show, but following your dreams and turns the passion into the career.
In spite of hailing from the small town, Hussain followed his dreams. He played for his heart and not to
win the game. But his passion transformed his dreams into the success stories.
It is true, God is watching us and see our strengths and weakness. We need to identify them and chase
our dreams full heartedly. It's not about hoping to win the show, but believing in oneself, that would
make the passion into the reality. We often seek solace into the winning the show, but the real winning is
to earn success stories (Doidge, 2015). When God couldn’t safeguard his people, he created mothers who
could defy all the odds to protect and guide their child.
