INTRODUCTION
Hypnotherapy can be defined as the process of guided hypnosis which is a form of
psychotherapy which makes usage of relaxation, extreme concentration and also high level of
attention so that an adequate state of mindfulness and consciousness is been achieved. Present
report will lay emphasis on the effectiveness and evaluation of complementary therapy.
MAIN BODY
Evaluation of complementary therapy: Hypnotherapy
In the opinion of Alizamar and et.al., (2018) hypnosis is been used by clinical professionals
in order to reduce down the anxiety and stress level of patient or any individual who is been
suffering from it. It is being done before a medical procedure takes place. Hypnotherapy is being
used by health care professionals usually before breasts biopsy and is also been used for other
aspects such as for controlling of pain. This therapy is basically being considered in place of
alternative medicines. In this the purpose of this complementary therapy is to deal with various
variety of issues such as phobia, psychological stress, anxiety, unhealthy dangerous habits which
is smoking and drinking. It is also being used by clinicians and professionals to bring a positive
change in behaviour of and individual who is going through oppressive behaviour or is even in
an unconscious stage of mind. It will also help individual who is facing issues in sleep overcome
those problems.
As stated by Rutten and et.al., (2017) hypnosis is also one type of psychotherapy. It is being
used for making sure that patient overcome psychotic behaviour. It will help in making sure that
patients got relaxed and calm. In this situation a well-trained psychologist is been engaged in
bringing the patient into hypnotic state so that they can be able to safely explore the memories
which are painful, traumatic and be free and can be able to come into conscious stage of mind.
This complimentary therapy is really effective as it assists patients in overcoming the stress and
anxiety issues and also because of this positive impact is been laid on health and wellbeing
aspects of patients. It has also assisted the patients in overcoming their stress and various issues
such as relationship problems, fears, work related conflicts, chronic pain. The patient will be able
to open up to their therapist by taking this hypnotherapy and because of this they will be able to

to patient so that they can be able to bring out better and positive changes in their lives which is
really necessary to be done. There is various type of unhealthy and traumatic behaviour which

being used for treating wide range of conditions and also it is being used tackle the unhealthy
behaviour. It is being used for curing the phobias, addiction related to smoking and alcohol,
overcoming the loss of a loved one, anxiety, stress, depression weight loss. It has also been
analysed that those who are been suffering from various type of psychotic behaviour can also be
treated by this complementary therapy rather than the orthodox behaviour. The psychologist has
provided the details that this therapy is been considered right for psychotic patients.
In accordance with Hasan and et.al., (2019) hypnotherapy is really effective in managing the
psychological disturbances which has also assisted in treating the stress, anger and confusion. It
is also being useful in lowering down the amount of tensions faced by cancer patients. In some of
the ways hypnosis is been taken as guided mediation which is been really useful for the
mindfulness. The paper has also provided the details that cancer is one of the disease with whom
patients fear the most. Research has provided the details that most of the patients of cancer goes
through various signs and symptoms like nausea, vomiting, fatigue, stress, depression and
anxiety. So in order to make sure that they overcome this issue clinical hypnotherapy is being
used by so many health care professionals.
In the opinion of Hilgard and LeBaron, (2019) there are various miss-conceptions related to
hypnotherapy which is been tracked. It has been analysed that so many of the people do not take
hypnosis seriously. They think that it is some of sort of entertainment which is been seen on
stage and even on television. Leaving aside the conventional viewpoints regarding hypnosis,
health care professional can say that hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation wherein the conscious
part of mind gets detached. This type of therapy is being used in order to change the another
person feelings and opinion and how they seek world. It has also been analysed that the patient

CONCLUSION
From the above review of literature, it has been summarised that hypnosis assists in
lowering down the anxiety, stress, depression, anger and other sort of psychotic behaviour in
patients. It has also been analysed that this therapy is really useful in improvising wellbeing and
health outcome of patient who is really depressed. This therapy is mainly being given to those
service users who are going through dangerous disease such as cancer. It has also been analysed
that the patient who goes through this therapy, there perception is been changed.
