This capstone project examines the impact of International Accounting Standards (IAS) on accounting quality. The research investigates the association between IAS adoption and accounting quality, aiming to harmonize accounting practices. The project employs a qualitative research method, using both primary (interviews) and secondary data (online articles and journals). Key findings suggest that IAS significantly affects accounting quality through effective controls, wider acceptance, and active oversight. The study recommends adhering to ethical accounting principles within an IAS-compliant framework to improve financial control and performance. The project covers the research aim, objectives, rationale, research questions, a critical literature review, research methods, data analysis, and conclusions with recommendations. The conclusion of the study highlights that IAS has a significant impact on the quality of accounting within an organization.
