Interdisciplinary Teaching: video 1
This is the thematic approach where one subject is approached from multiple
perspectives. This video talks about the interdisciplinary method where there is an effort to
integrate knowledge developed across multiple fields. For example, the study of the rivers can be
approached from the perspective of geography and subjects like English. This integrated study
method helps the teachers to utilize their instructional time better and provides a holistic
understanding of the subjects to the learners (YouTube, 2019).
International Baccalaureate and theory of knowledge: video 2
The International Baccalaureate has created eight areas of knowledge which are
interdisciplinary, and it leaves scope for the students to think and ponder on the issues through
making connections critically. It is about shaping the person as a contributing human being to be
part of the global community. This is more than traditional classroom-based learning (YouTube,
2019).

It is the aim to change the student’s perspectives on issues from multiple perspectives
since it makes it more interesting to learn. This is a significant connection to the day to day
learning. It is the holistic development of the students since they participate in an interactive

Critical thinking within the classroom is the process of active participation of the students
to learn and think critically within the classroom. This is the role of the students and the teachers
together in participating in the process actively. This is so far about the critical thinking issue

This is about the importance of critical thinking as it teaches the students of IB the
importance of accepting the counter argument and different viewpoints .This is more than the
rote learning process where the students play a passive role by taking down notes on the subjects,
and this is the process of active participation and interaction of the students among them and
with the teachers to have better knowledge sharing (YouTube, 2019).
