Main Body
The company ICCR was established by Rachel Adams and the main purpose of Rachael Adams
before establishing this organization as she wants to open a research center which will produce
cost-effective clinical trials. ICCR has gained a lot of success in the starting and has overall
revenue of approx. $6 million. Most of the employees of this company are women which also
shows the strength of women in the country. With the passing time, the company has enhanced
its growth and as result, Rachel who is now the CEO of the company has to travel a lot in order
to develop the company in other cities as well. Rachel is a free-minded woman who always looks
for new opportunities and ideas in order to enhance the growth of the organization more in the
international market. The new goal of Rachel is to expand their business in other countries as
well so that there will be more research centers of cost-effective clinical trials (Banks, et. al.,
2016).
It can be seen that there are various problems which are arising in the company nowadays as the
directors of the company want to change the model of the company and want to make the
company as a new pharmaceutical company which will be known for producing new drugs in the
country. This has been created conflict between the directors of the organization and the CEIO of
the company. This conflict has hindered the growth of the company and the company is stared
losing its overall revenue in the country.
The other problems which can be seen that in this case scenario is the lack of strategic planning
and lack of effective decision making from the side of leaders. Rachel is not able to focus on the
perorations of the company effectively as she spends lots of her time during traveling for the
growth of the company. As a result, many of the employees not even know who is Rachel, this
has created a serious problem in the company which has stared hinders the growth of the
organization in the nation (Donate & de Pablo, 2015).
This problems which have been arising in the company is generally because of a lack of strategic
planning in the association and lack of effective communication between the leader Rachel with
their employees and with the other directors. Lack of effective communication creates so many
problems in the organization which results in the downfall of the company. Another problem

which can be seen in the company is the lack of leadership skills and motivation which can be
provided to the employees from the leader side so that it will encourage the employees more in
enhancing their performance. These problems need to be solved on an urgent basis if the
company remain to be top in the department of research and clinical trials (Du, et. al., 2013).
There are many changes which take place in the company and due to lack of appearance of the
leader Rachel in the organization has affected the leadership of Rachel in the company. It is
essential for the leader to participate in the operations of the company so that she will be able to
solve the ongoing conflicts which have been emerged in the company. Rachel needs to have
more effective communication with the directors of the organization and also with the employees
of the company so that there will be proper structure again in the company which will enhance
the growth of the company once again. Effective communication plays an important role in the
success of the business (Van Wart, 2013). With the help of effective communication, many
conflicts which been emerged in the company will not only solve but also it will encourage the
employees to put more efforts in order to enhance the growth of the association. Effective
communication not only resolves the various conflict which happens in the organization but also
asses the leaders in the implementation of new ideas and strategic planning
(Nanjundeswaraswamy & Swamy, 2014).
Strategic planning is the most important aspect in the development of any organization. With the
help of strategic planning, a leader can not only set the goals of the organizations but also it will
improve the overall efficiency of the company. Strategic planning gives a clear direction to the
business so that the organization will be able to accomplish all their goals and objectives which
will enhance the production of the company and also assess the company in gaining the
competitive advantage in the market. In order to solve all the conflicts of the company ICCR,
Rachel who is the leader of the company needs to implement strategic planning in the most
effective manner so that the company will be able to set common goals for all the employees and
the management. Setting the common goals will be beneficial for the growth of the organization
and also it will improve the production of the association in the country.
The leader of the company also needs to enhance the employee motivations and job satisfaction
of the employees so that the employees will be able to put more efforts in accomplishing the new
goals of the company. Rachel can do this with the help of effective communication and also with

the help of various theories of motivation. She can use the theories of motivation to encourage
the employees more so that the employees will remain motivated throughout their work and they
will be able to put more efforts in their work which will enhance the overall performance of the
organization (Day, et. al., 2014).
From the case scenario, it can be seen that there is a lack of motivation in the employee and the
lack of job satisfaction which is also the main reason behind the downfall of the company. To
solve such issues, Rachel can motivate their employees in order to accomplish new goals of the
organization. She can use the theory of Maslow' hierarchy of needs to encourage the employees
more in order to accomplish the goals of the company.
It can be seen that an effective leader always concerns about the job satisfaction of their
employees as employees are the most important aspect of any business and also responsible for
the success of that organization. With the help of Maslow' hierarchy of needs, Rachel can not
only motivate the employees but also provide more job satisfaction to them which will be
beneficial for their growth in the company (Day, et. al., 2014).
The theory of Maslow' hierarchy of needs states that there are several need of the employees
which they looking to fulfill. Fulfillment of these needs not only assess the employees in
improving their performance but also beneficial for the growth of the company. These needs can
be related to the personal needs of the employees and also various other needs. Maslow' stated in
his theory that there are various needs of the employees which are self-actualization needs,
Esteem needs, love-belonging needs, Safety needs, and Physiology needs. Every employee
looking to fulfill these needs so that he can live a happy life. Every employee has their different
needs and the leader of the company ICCR need to examine the needs of those employees with
the help of this theory and fulfill those needs. This will not only encourage the employees to put
more efforts into their performance but also improve the overall growth of the company
(Collinson, 2014).
The motivation of the employees is directly related to the performance of those employees. This
will not only provide them job satisfaction but also the company will be able to enhance the
employee retention rate which is quite necessary in this competitive world. The more motivated
will be employee throughout their job the more they will be satisfied with their job. Due to which

it is quite essential to encourage those employees so that the organization will be able to
accomplish all their goals and objectives.
It is also essential for the leader to possess more effective leadership skills in the company so
that it will enhance the employee engagement in the company and the employees will be able to
know more about the functions of the company and also get to know more about the new policies
of the corporation. It can be seen that there is lack of leadership skills possessed by the leader
Rachel in the organization due to which it is impacting the operations as well as the functions of
the company (Clarke, 2013). It is necessary for the leader Rachel to change its leadership style so
that it will influence the employees more in the operations of the company and will enhance the
growth of the company in the market. Rachel can opt the different leadership style which can be
useful for the employee engagement in the decision making for the benefit for the company.
Rachel can adopt the democratic leadership style which will allow her to influence all their
employees regarding the decision making of the company. Democratic leadership is a type of
leadership in which the leader allow their employees to participate in the discussions so that they
can share their views regarding the growth of the company. Democratic leadership allows Rachel
to listen to all the views of the employees and can make the most effective decision which will
be beneficial for the growth of the company. In companies like ICCR, it is essential for the
leader to possess most effective leadership style so that it will develop the company more and the
organization will be able to enhance their production which will be beneficial for the growth of
the company. With the help of a democratic leadership style, Rachel can discuss with their
employees without making any decision for the future of the company. It will allow the leader to
gather different views of different employees and will assess the leader in implementing new
innovations and strategies in the organization (Carmeli, et. al., 2013).
Implementation of new strategies is necessary for the organization in its development and also
assess the company in its growth in the international market. Democratic leadership will also
allow the leader to have effective communication with their employees which will resolve all the
queries of the employees and enhance their performance in the company. Enhancement in the
performance of the employees will enhance the overall performance of the company. It will
increase employee engagement in the functions of the company and encourage them more in
putting more extra efforts in order to achieve the goals of the company.

It is essential for the leader Rachel to have effective communication with the directors of the
company as the director wants to change the model of the company so that the company will be
known for developing new drugs in the country (Wright, et. al., 2013). Development of new
drugs is the new goal for the company as per the directors but the CEO and the leader of the
company Rachel are not agreed with this decision of directors and want that the process of the
organization still remains the same. In order to solve this conflict, Rachel needs to have effective
communication with the directors and tell them the various benefits of the old process so that it
will convince them to drop the idea of changing the process of the company.
Effective communication will play a big role in settling the issue of changing the model and the
process of the company. It is important for the leader to show the several benefits of the existing
process and also discuss the new strategies which can be implemented in the company for the
enhancement of overall revenue of the organization. Implementation of new strategies and plans
is essential for the leader so that it will improve the overall production of the company and the
organization will be able to generate more profits. Strategic planning and implementation of new
development programs will not only enhance the performance of the employees but also the
company will be able to accomplish their objectives and gain a competitive advantage in the
market (Azar, et. al., 2013).
Recommendation
An appropriate leader will always possess an important role in the success of any company and
also it is essential for them to possess effective leadership skills and communication skills so that
it will assess them to share their views and catch the views of their employees regarding the
development in the company. It is recommended to the leader of the company ICCR to have
effective communication skills with the directors but also implements new strategic planning
which will enhance the growth of the company once again in the country. Rachel can not only
implement new strategic plans but also adopt a new leadership style like a democratic leadership
style which will assess them in influencing more employees and also enhance the employee
engagement in the functions of the company. It is also recommended to the leader of the
company ICCR to establish new training and development programs which will allow the
employees to acquire more knowledge about the process of the company and they will be able to
