Introduction:
In the report the update in I- Crop software as formed by Virtucon for Globex will be discussed
and how it will help in increasing the profits and market shares of the company. The report will
consist of the work breakdown structure of the company which helps in determining the time
duration of the project.

Part One
Measurable Organizational Value
The project starts with analyzing and determining the overall goal and objectives of the project
and success measure which is known as measurable organizational value. The MOV is the
measure which is used to determine the goal and value of the project. The value is the amount
which customers will be paying for the service or product. In order to have a real value of the
project, it shall support the mission, vision, and strategy of the organization (Schneider).
MOV shall be:
Measurable: It must provide a transparent picture of success.
Value: Globex shall not utilize its resources and time on the project until and unless it is sure that
the project will provide a value (Romanach, et. al., 2016).
Agreed: The agreement on MOV sets expectations to the stakeholders.
Verifiable: MOV is the process which measures the success of the project, so it shall be verified
after the completion of the project.
Identification of the desired “Area of Impact”
On the basis of the ranking, area of impact is ranked as follows:
1) Customer: Customers or clients are the important person of the businesses. I- Crop
software was updated to provide the customers various facilities like it enhances the
mode of communication to the customers, making payments through online website, and
tracking of the products ordered by the customers. This attracts more customers and helps
in increase in revenues and profits of the company (Macdonald, et. Al., 2016).
2) Social: Social media is a method used by Globex to build brand awareness within and
outside the country. Globex aims to increase its business overseas and thus have made an
update in the I-Crop software with the support of Virtucon. Social media is used to

promote the products of the company and provides the customers an overview of the
features of the product.
3) Strategy: I- Crop software was already in process and Globex has just updated the
software, which means the software has not entered into a new market, so the field of
strategy has given less priority. The Globex updates the software with an objective to
increase the sales by attracting more customers and to provide conveniences to the
existing customers in terms of payment, tracking, and communication with the company
in case of any query.
4) Operational: I-Crop software is automatic software so there is a very less hope of facing
any errors on the software. The operations of the software as updated by the company are
to have a better communication with the customers. It helps customers to determine the
status of the ordered product, i.e. by when it will be delivered. Also, the software was
updated with an aim to make payment mode easier. Now, customers will be able to make
online payments.
5) Financial: The financial conditions of the company will be improved with the use of
updated software as Globex will receive timely payments. Finance is an important tool
for the operations of the business of any organization. In order to make updates in the
software, even Globex will require money to pay to Virtucon.
Identification of the “Value”
Value refers to the worth of something may or may not in monetary terms.
1) Cheaper: The cheaper price of the products attracts more customers as cheaper price
make the product affordable to everyone. The cost cutting is vital for the clients as
customers do not have to think before purchasing the product, whereas customers have to
think for the high priced goods. Software update helps in the reduction of the cost to the
company and thus company can decrease the cost of the goods.
2) Do more: Customers always want more. They always expect organizations to produce
something different to them. By making necessary changes, the organization will increase
its productivity and growth which will result in increased goodwill of the Globex.
Development of “Metric”

1) Targets: For the purpose of updating the I- Crop software, various targets are to be
considered:
 The update shall include the tracking procedure so that customers can track its
products.
 The update must include online payment facility to the clients.
 The update shall also include the better communication process through which
customers can communicate with the company.
2) Expectations of the stakeholders: This means the stakeholder’s expectations and desires
from the decisions, profits, revenues and operations of the company. With the
consultation of the top members of the company, stakeholders take all the important
decisions of the company.
Stakeholder’s expectations are:
i) Virtucon Committee: The stakeholder does expect to have managed customers.
ii) Globex Organization: They expect to have a share in the profits of the company.
iii) Business analyst: Expectation includes that there shall be two way communications
from the updated software between customers and company.
iv) Project Manager: The stakeholder’s expect from project manager to have a positive
and proper coordination between the Virtucon and Globex.
v) System Analyst: It is expected that all the problems and issues faced by either the
Globex or Virtucon Company will be discussed properly.
3) Quantitative Target: It includes the following:
 It is being expected to earn an increased amount of profit by Globex Company of
83% in 5.5 months.
 It is expected that the company will have an increase in customer retention by 85%.
 The company will attain maximize return on interest by 7.7% in 6 months
(Deshpande, et. Al., 2018).

company.

Scope
Scope refers to the area which helps in defining the features and functions of the product. The
scope expresses the work to be done for the completion of the project and delivering of the
product (Fleming, et. Al., 2016).
Globex is facing problem in managing and retention of the customers. Many of the customers are
not satisfied with the communication process and payment method. Also, it results in reduction
in the number of customers and reduced profits. So, Globex with the support of Virtucon is
planning to update the software for resolving the issues and increase the customers, sales and
profits of the Globex.
The scope management is the process in which the benefits, outputs, and outcomes are being
defined, controlled, and identified in order to complete the project successfully. Globex aims to
update software, I- Crop which is already in process so as to attract maximum number of
customers and retain them. The Globex Company with the help of Virtucon makes the necessary
updates in the software. The update is important so that a proper communication channel is
provided to the customers through which they can contact the company. The software was
updated with the aim to provide its customers an online payment facility and tracking of the
goods or products they have ordered. The software provides them an access through which they
can get the status of the products and the time within which it will get delivered to them. The
software update attracts more customers and helps in retaining existing customers.
There are several features and functions in the software for which the update was made. The
Globex Company’s motive is to capture the highest market share by increasing the productivity
and revenues of the company. It aims to keep its stakeholder satisfied so that they do not lose
interest in the operations of the company. The updates in I- Crop software will consist of
several features and functions. These include:
1) Using the software, the customers will be able to make the payments through online
portals.

Criteria of Acceptation:
There are various steps or criteria which are necessary to fulfill so that Virtucon and Globex can
promote the updated software. The criteria for accepting the software involves:
 The software must have an access from portable devices such as tablets, mobiles, and
notebooks.
 The software must be available and operated online.
 With the help of the software, the customers will be able to communicate their issues
regarding the product to the management of the company.
 All the income generated through the update in the software will be segregated between
Globex and Virtucon (Besteiro, et. Al., 2015).

and implementation of the project. There are various resources required for the update of the
software. These resources are:

Identification and detailing of the “Resources”
 Technology: For the purpose of updating the software, various technical tools and methods
are required. Using the technical methods, Virtucon can make an update as required by the
Globex in the software. Technical tools which are required include smart phones, tablets,
notepad+, printers, Studio Cloud, computers, are used to update the software.
 Facilities: The updated software will give numerous facilities so it is important to create a
link between software and hardware.
 People: The update in software requires qualified and experienced people so as to update the
software at low cost and in less time. People having talent, skills are required for completion
of the project. So, people such as system analyst, business analyst, computer technician,
project manager, web developer, etc. are preferred for updating of the software. The list of
people for updating of the software includes:

1. Business Analyst The responsibility of business analyst is to determine the
domain of the organization. He is the one who will
integrate the project model with the use of technology.
2. Web Developer He is the person who will develop the updates in the
software. With the use of the software, customers can
make online payments. It is his duty to make the software
available on portable devices such as smart phones, etc.
3. Project Manager From the initiation process to the closure of the project, it
is the duty of the project manager to lead the project.
Project manager has to plan, execute, and manage the
people.
4. System Analyst His role is to make optimum use of technology
effectively.
5. Computer Technician The role of computer technician is to maintain the
computers and servers as installed and updated by
Virtucon.
6. System Architect He will develop the organization’s system. The system is
developed after analyzing the cost.
 Others: Other resources include training provided by Virtucon to the staff of Globex so
that they operate the software in efficient and effective manner (Kerzner, et. Al., 2017).
