1. INTRODUCTION
As Internet of Things (IOT) and smart objects hit the market there is sudden rise of smart
technologies. People around the world are addicted to social media. More than half of the world
population has social media accounts. Fear of Missing out (FOMO) is social anxiety to continually
connect with what other people doing. People who is facing FOMO suffer fear of regret, they are
concerned about missing opportunity for social interaction. Most of the people who are into social
media are facing Fear of Missing out and it has negative influence on them. FOMO should be
considered as serious issue as most of the teenagers are suffering from this. According to recent
survey about 56% of social media users suffers from social anxiety and fear of missing out. Due to
this there is rise of ethical issues such as Privacy, Consent, anonymity and trust.
2. IDENTIFICATION
Most of the social media users cannot stay more than 3hours without checking the social medial
sites.
Privacy
One of the main ethical issues pertaining to social media is Privacy. Privacy is individual users,
groups or companies request to find out how, when and to what level their own information can
be shared with the third party.
Trust between anonyms
Any of social media user cannot guarantee that they are speaking or chatting with the person
says they are so this is one of ethical issues with extensive use of social media.
Consent
Consent is one of the major issues where majority of people are unaware that they are being
stalked by people or organizations.
3. ANALYSE
Privacy
Privacy plays important role in individual’s life. None of us are ready to disclose the private
information with others. Privacy can be defined as controlled and selective access to the
personal information. Privacy should not be taken as hiding. In positive sense, Privacy can be
taken as individual concern above his/her confidentiality rounds, industrialized off four
measurements: secluded interplanetary in the existing domain, social interaction, individual
reliability within the psychosomatic measurement and individual information defense. In
negative sense, the privacy can be defined as either government, organizations and other
factors should not obstruct with the personal information at any time. Many issues came into

the users. Social media allows people to create a personal profile which may be public or semi-
public. Social media aims at exchanging of statistics, greatest of it consuming secluded
atmosphere. Most of them want to share their happenings in life and to prove themselves
through social media. By disclosing personal information to outside they are giving access to
their information to public.
Trust between anonyms
Relationships stands on trust and it cannot be present deprived of the faith. Trust is a must, in
other words it can be said as, without this communities doesn’t exist. To build self-trust in
personal relationships, trust is must. Faith is also industrialized on bi-dimension, which means
that by trusting someone, in return expecting them to trust in back. If one trusts someone,
he/she will reveal the information about them to opposite person, he/she will be in danger by in
front of other in some or other way. By disclosing information to others, conviction in others
develops solider. Belief also hang on on situation. For suppose, we can faith other person in
some situation, but not in other context. For instance, Facebook allows up to 5000 friends and
there are many people with 5000 friends. But how trust can one build a trust without meeting
them in real world? Social media cannot be considered as community where rules are respected
by all.

This will lead to personal abilities by limiting access to data and information that is shared to
social media. This is not related to computer skills or a better computer knowledge, but rather
the users has awareness about the what information has to be posted online and how it can be
affect them within the time. Browser developers has to develop browser in such a way that the
information is not shared with the third parties. Regulations should be implied on browsers by
developers regarding the information shared to others. Users’ has to go anonymity sometimes
to protect his/her individual facts, his/her copy and which in return condenses community
linkage’s superintendent responsibility towards generating confidentiality schemes.

Fear of Missing out is increasing gradually among the users which can controlled by implementing
self-control over the social media websites. Privacy, consent, trust and anonymity are linked to each
other and plays pivot role in reducing or increasing the social media anxiety. By going anonymous
user can protect his/her privacy where social media websites doesn’t ask for personal information.
People must have ethical attitude that the information shared on social media sites or online are not
only seen by friends but also the entire world. People should have limitations about the content
they are posting online. One has to keep control over usage of social media this can be done by
installing application software which are available online and free to download, these applications
keep track of time spent on social media websites.
