Introduction
In this assignment a research will be done over the students of first year for analysing
how they can improve their learning by using mobile apps and communication technology.
The impact over the students after using various information and communication
technologies with different equipments will be described.
Research problem
The research problem is framed for finding the answer of the following questions:
How the mobile devices can helps the first year students in their learning
process?
How the social interaction with the help of mobile devices is beneficial for the
students?
Research methodology
The qualitative and quantitative both the research methods will be used in order to
know the answers of the above stated questions. Qualitative research methods are used to
identify the impact of information and communication technology over the learning process
of first year students whereas quantitative research method is helpful in assessing the
questionnaire. Help of secondary resources and primary sources will be taken for analysing
the literature related to impact of ICT over students and survey method will also be used in
order to know the result of using communication technology by the students of first year (M
Hennink, 2020).
Data collection methods
Primary research
A research can be done by taking the help of questionnaire and receive the feedback
of the students after using the equipments of ICT. The questions of the questionnaire may be
related to the enhancement in the knowledge of the students of first year after making the
social interactions (C Quinlan, 2019).

For example: Question may be asked over the interpersonal skills of the students
which can be improved after interaction with many people. Not only the communication
skills but also the cultural knowledge of the students will be flourished by using ICT which
can be judged by framing suitable questions related to these skills (C Quinlan, 2019).
Secondary research
Secondary research techniques help in knowing the past researches which may
directly or indirectly impact over the students. By having a literature review over the past
analysis of the students efficiency after using ICT will be analysed properly (X Wang, 2020).
For example: By social interactions, students will be able to enhance their knowledge
about language and culture of that particular place. By using mobile apps, tablets and laptops,
student will be able to connect with their group members, classmates and professors so that
they can quickly discuss over any problem related to their curriculum (X Wang, 2020).
Ethical consideration for the study
The data collected by the researcher should be authentic. The survey should be done
through authentic sources like face to face survey techniques. Researcher may also take the
help of the parents of the students for making the data collection more realistic and authentic.
The secondary research sources which are going to use should be well-known and written by
sophisticated authors (Yu Tim God, 2019).
Conclusion
The primary and secondary research techniques are very widely used for knowing the
answers of different types of research problems. The data collection method should be
authentic and transparent so that the research results may be more related to the reality of the
situation. In most of the cases this has been found that the use of information and
communication technology has been proved highly beneficial in the learning process of the
students.
